I am still having problems finding the Old Poetry though I know it's tucked away somewhere.  It's annoying not to be able to get my fix of it when I want it.  It was quite accessible before the Changes.

You're right. It's been MIA for over a week, no drop down menu to the Classics.  The way I access it is to type the name of the poet into the address box, like www.allpoetry.com/Gelett_Burgess  Or else I google the poem I am looking for and sometimes you will see the AP version come up, as long as you add the word "Classic".  I suppose it is all part of Kevin's game of psycho manipulation that the "think tank" out in Palo Alto is studying.    [well, that link doesn't even work; I must have mispelled it.]

I did get into once since the big change.  Not sure how I did it.  Thanks for the info.  I kinda liked things the way they were as any sensible older person would.  Anyone over 50.

Judith--- at the top, instead of picking 'Forums' 'Contests' etc. you hover over and click on the 'Allpoetry' thing with the bird on top left. Bingo!

Thank you.  I really should write that down.  You will be interested to hear that Bossy sis fell over a garden hose and broke her left wrist!  I am actually quite concerned.  It was badly set and had tobe re broken and reset.  I think that's what she said on Facebook.  Sounds awful and I am working up to an actual phone call.

You know how I like to keep you posted on the doings of my family!  Hope yours is well.

J-- Here is the recipe: smirk first, then ring. It's a painful thing, I did it, but did not have the resetting business. I just did that thing of writing you a long missive, then
pressing the wrong thing and puff! gone. Just as well, as other people not likely to be interested.

It's listed under the Allpoetry logo, a drop down menu appears and you just click the Classic Poetry line. That will take you to oldpoetry

  • Thank you, Tammy.  It's nice to be able to read the Oldies.

That it is. I get a poem a day in my e-mail from poets.org

There's always the Oldpoetry poem of the day that you'll find when you click the little plain "Poetry" in the banner to left of "Contests".  (That's where the drop down menu to find Classics was until recently.  I must be over 50 now. Damn. I knew it would hit me hard.)

The mods + greeters are currently beta testing some interface tweaks that will make it easier to browse old (classic) poetry, among other things.  I hope to make a public beta test of it in a week or so.
