  • daftweejimmy : homophobia is wrong on June 20, 2008
Can you just clear this up for me? Are you truly suggesting that the way someone feels is wrong, merely because you take that view? Let me put it another way. I don't have a problem with homosexuals being homosexuals, whichever gender they are. But I do have a problem with the idea of homosexuals being parents. I wouldn't want them to influence my children.

The other side of the coin is that plenty of homosexuals have a heterophobic outlook; in their patois, they don't trust straights. If this attitude is ok with you, why shouldn't homophobia have equal credit?

I don't feel any disgust at all with any attitude that has reasoning or rationale behind it; I may not agree with it, but I can at least respect the reasoning, and perhaps find grounds for debate. My own homophobic attitude is based on the premise that I was the victim of an attempted gang rape by homosexuals, merely because I was young and dressed in a way that they interpreted as tarty. I have no problem, as I said, with people who keep their homosexuality at home, but to condemn an attitude that may have reason simply because you believe you are right seems to me to speak of a closed mind, which at your age bodes very ill fopr your future.
