My favorite Poem of All-Time:
The Jabberwocky By Lewis Carroll
`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"
He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.
`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
Other than that I'm really into free verse that has a beat, but like funny rhyming occasionally. I like poems that put you in someone else's shoes, which is also why I occasionally write short stories as well. Those are fewer and farther in between though, esp since I have a hard time maintaining interest in writing pieces longer than around 50 lines.
My favorite bands include Macklemore, HelloGoodBye, 3OH!3, Boys Like Girls, J.R.A., John Mayer, and Switchfoot. I love piano and wish I could play it so badly. I am a die-hard Harry Potter and Jodi Picoult fan, but I also like classics like Jane Austen Novels. I totally support feminism and free thinking and don't think anyone can be labeled without it being wrong. I believe in Jesus, but I am not gonna force religion on you. I hate when people do that. I'm one of those science geeks who just happens to have a creative side, and I think that comes out in my work sometimes. That's pretty much all about me.
