Decisions-- Part II

As Emmalee walked into the store Nathanial was close on her heels, unbeknownst to her. He decided he was going to follow her aorund all day and go with her to work to see if she'd make her decison.

He wanted to be with her so badly it hurt. and being what he was that's hard to accomplish. An immortal doesn't usually fall for one like her. He knew he would have to tell her what he was soon. For there to even be a real chance for them he must. But his ego and pride were still holding him back. Nathan refused to tell her what he was until she got rid of the scum Kaleb. He would give her no reason to run back into his neglectful arms.

But how to get her away from him.....

She'd felt watched since she got out of bed this morning. Yet Emmalee couldn't put her finger on why she felt this way. Her co-workers had been distant but friendly all day as usual, and aside from a customer here and there, she was utterly alone. Instead of being comforted by this thought though, she was ill at ease.

Swearing to herself as she stubbed her toe yet again on another box, she was a clutz after all, she still felt as if someone were there. At one point it had even felt like someone had been playing with her hair. And it had almost felt like Nathan's touch. Despite her protests that she was still taken, he found ways to touch her and be near her. and it was comforting to her even though it should have been forbidden. Nathan was her solace when Kaleb wasn't around.

A part of Emmalee felt like she was playing a tricky game of cat and mouse, that she was bound to lose. Only instead of one cat there were two and she was the lowly mouse. Soon to be caught by one of the cats and taken for his own.

Then there was the presence she felt again. Was she going insane? On her lunc break she wrote in her journal and could have sworn she heard someone laugh when she wrote about Kaleb. She felt as though she really was losing it though. But tonight was her date with Kaleb, and she was set on deciding tonight either way once and for all....

Later on as Nathanial is thinking to himself...

A Date? She is going to go on a date with her loser boyfriend tonight to decide who she wants? Ha! That's laughable. Kaleb is done for. Once dear Emmalee remembers how much Kaleb has hurt her lately she'll never stay with him. And then she'll come running into my open arms and all will be well. But just in case... Maybe I should make certain taht Kaleb does hurt her one last time. It's mean I know, but then I'll be able to tell her everything. Kaleb, will stand her up tonight....
