Fallen Angels///7

Xavier came over from his corner with Carlos following by his side.

"I see she's a fast learner good job Fernando." He waved as Fernando just stood there with a smile on his face I swear, its so annoying it makes you wanna slap yo momma...

"Ok, look here Mr.X man I want to know what you're talking about and I wanna know now or I will fly circles around your- ahhhh!!!"

Apparently, Xy-poo didn't like being yelled at, because with the wave of his hand, he sent me flying into a wall behind him. And let me tell you. It didn't hurt. Well, not as much as I would expect, but the stone was all over the place, dust flying around and it only felt like a pillow hit me a really BIG pillow might I add but all the same, I got the wind knocked out of me completely.

I picked myself up from the rubble and casually walked back over to X. Yeah, that's what I'm calling him for now everyone deserves a kickass name every once and a while, don't cha think?

"Ok, it seems that we got off to a rough start, so let's try this again hi X, my name is Carmen, how do you do?" I said this while dusting myself off and tipping my pretend top hat in his face.

He just looked at me with this mean glare then, he smiled. Go figure.

"You've got a big mentality for such a young girl, I'll give you that."

Well that's nice to know...

"Ok, now that everybody has had a preview of what's to come, I would like everyone to follow me." And with that, the Council had disappeared and X walked over to the wall where I had been smashed like a fly, and put his hand to it. It glowed a bright blue hue and X walked into it.

I heard Sam (short for Samuel hooray for nicknames!) talking behind me. "Does he really think I'm going though another door again? Na-uh hell no, I refuse I'm not going anywhe-"

"Dude!" I saw Carlos make a face at Sam, then turn to me I made my decision mystery portal was WAY better than hearing this guy bitch.

"Shut the fuck up" And so I walked into the light.

Now, this is the part where somebody is supposed to yell out 'Oh, no Carmen, don't go into the light! Stay away from the light!' ...but I don't think anyone cared. Just before I stepped through, I saw Carlos and Adrian right behind me. I guess I really am the leader, aren't I? YeY me! Somebody slap me five and buy me a cookie!

So, where was I? Oh yeah, the bright blue light. Well, let me just say this that was one wicked bright light. I had to close my eyes as soon as I stepped inside and my stomach did a few flips like being on a super fast rollercoaster. Air came rushing past my face and I fought to keep moving forward. Why can't we ever just use a door just a regular door made of wood and nails oh well. I put my arm over my face so I could see. I looked back and I could see everyone trailing behind me. If I stopped now, so would they... I had to keep going for the sake of the losers... all hail the losers!

I took one last step and then everything stopped. I stood still for a moment to let my eyes adjust to yet another empty, no-exit, four wall room. This time though, the light came from the torches that burned in the corners of the room. X stepped out of the shadows. I looked behind to notice that everyone had joined us. One, three, seven, ten, twelve, thirteen including me. Yup, all here. I looked back over to X as he began what seemed like would be another long, depressing speech.

"Ladies and gentlemen..."

/Here we go again.../ I rolled my eyes and heard Adrian giggle at my comment.

"There is no more help from me after this. I cannot continue into the world you are about to encounter. I cannot contact you. I cannot do anything except warn you of what you may find..." He walked over to the wall behind him and continued. "Once I open the portal, you will not have a way back. Later on, with time, you will discover a way, but until then, you are there for good." He paused and looked at us, his eyes blank an expression of thought, perhaps remembrance. "You will first encounter a maze. Within this maze are four chambers. Each chamber has an obstacle that you must all overcome TOGETHER. After you have passed the fourth door, you will find yourself in the world of Helter, a medieval type realm where you will reach the capitol city of Toran. There, you will meet the king and from there you will aid him and his army to victory against the threat against his kingdom. That is all I can say for this is all I know. My only question to you is... Are you ready?"

Silence. Dead flippin' silence. My mind was racing of course. Thinking about my life as it was now. I had a home that I was probably going to move out of anyway due to a financial problem, family who didn't really care, friends that were really just acquaintances, and my memories. Memories from my past that led me to this day. Each of them was a mistake that I had no control over, yet it controlled me. I remembered my father leaving my mother because she had cheated on him. Then her boyfriend leaving her for the same reason, then the constant moving. From house to apartment, to house, to family, to house, to family, to house, to apartment, to house. I realized that I never really had a home. I never had a comfort place that I could call a haven. My friends came and went. I was rejected by society. I just simply was. The earliest memory I had was that of my father being shot right before my eyes in a gang war. He lived, but that meant nothing. I remembered my life on the street. My life as the daughter of the neighborhood king pin... the head loan shark... heiress to everything he controlled... everything he owned...Always avoiding trouble, but it somehow seemed to find me and kick my ass. School was a joke to me. I had the grades, the activities, but I didn't want collage. I didn't understand why I went except that I could have a free meal or two.

I didn't want that life. My life, if you can call it that. Maybe this was my chance to go out there and do something, to live up to a calling. I may have been atheist, but there just HAS to be something out there for me. I snapped out of my daze, took a breath, and pulled out my sword.

"Let's do this."

A couple of murmurs came from behind me and shocked gasps sounded though the room. I stood there, alone... that is until Adrian came over, sword drawn, head held high. "If she's going, I'm going to"

Even more whispering came from the crowd. Slowly, people came over to our side, weapons held out and eyes focused on X. We were ready... well we were as good as it was going to get anyways. X sighed, and turned around to face the wall. He began to chant something to himself as the wall slowly began to do a kind of wiggle dance, then it had a golden hue to it. X stepped to the side and gave me a nod. I took one last breath, stepped forward, and said good-bye to my old life and greeted the surprises ahead...

I heard Adrian's voice echo in my head.

/Don't leave me.../

I closed my eyes and answered her back.

/I won't.../
