Fallen Angels///5

Everyone just stood there. Ah, again with the starring? You people have honestly got to find another hobby. I heard footsteps come from behind me and I turned to find no one.

"So, you too, huh?" A voice came from in front of me, but no one was there.

"Ok, I KNOW everyone heard that, right?" I looked behind me and sure enough, everyone nodded their heads. The voice came again.

"Hey, over here" It sounded familiar it sounded like...

"Carlos?" My eyes darted back and forth from wall to wall... But I couldn't see anyone.

"Bingo!" He exclaimed.

"Where are you?" I don't like it when people hide from me it makes it seems as if I was being watched.

He laughed. "I'm right in front of you."

"What are you talking about? I can't see you..."

"That's because I'm in the shadows..."

"In the what?" I looked around to the shadows in the corners of the room. Nothing. Just a black hue and... and a body? I blinked, and it was gone. Logan stepped towards the same corner. I guess he saw it too, because the next thing I knew, he had his sword out and a yell came from where he stood.

"Logan!" someone called, but he turned around, blood dripping from his sword, and stepped back. Suddenly, a figure seemed to fade out from the shadows. It was a bit shrouded at first, but as it cleared up, I saw that it was in fact Carlos, kneeling on the floor, his hand covered in blood holding his right arm. Mary ran straight to him and sat him on the ground, looking at his wound.

"What did you do that for?" He looked over to Logan.

"How did you see me?"

Logan put his sword away and answered. "I could smell you..."

Valerie spoke out. "Yeah, I could hear you breathing..."

Everyone began looking around at each other. This was all too weird. What was going on? I don't like having surprises.

"Ok, what the hell is going on?!" Ariel spoke from the middle of the room.

Suddenly, a voice came from a corner. "A change..."

The man who had been informing us since we had arrived appeared out of thin air. His stance was tall, but his clothes had changed. He was now wearing black robes. How come I couldn't wear black? Oh well. He looked around at us all before speaking again.

"So, you are learning... that's good..."

Terry spoke up. "Learning, what, exactly?"

The man chuckled to himself. "Why, your powers of course."

The room gasped I know, like oh-em-gee! The man chuckled again as he continued.

"Each of you has a power. Each of you are different. Each of you, are chosen. The colors you wear represent what element resides in you. Your Inner Element as we call it, is the key to understanding your separate powers."

Carlos spoke, slightly bleeding as Mary was trying to stop the blood. "What do you mean we?"

The man smiled. "Why, the others of the Council of course..."

Suddenly, just like he had appeared, four more people had formed next to him.

"Let me introduce you to Jason, wielder of the Earth Blade." On his left, a bulky, tanned skinned man took a step forward and nodded his head. He had golden- blonde hair that grew like a mane around him, surrounding his green eyes. He had on golden robes and a very long sword strapped to his back.

"And this is Crystal, wielder of the Water Blade." A woman to the side of Jason waved her hand and gave a smile. She wore light blue robes that generously complemented her sparkling blue eyes. He held a blue staff with a shiny ball placed at the top. Her sandy blonde hair reached low to her back and curled in her face.

"Over there also is Fernando, wielder of the Aireth Blade." A man on the far right dressed in white robes gave a nod. His sword was strapped to his side and his emo-like hair was straight, black, and long, falling in his face and ending in a small ponytail, so you could clearly see his hazel brown eyes.

"Next to me is Delilah, wielder of the Flaming Blade." A shockingly beautiful woman gave an excited 'hi!' to the right of him. She had jet-black hair that curled in and out, reaching her shoulders. Her bright green eyes were shimmering and filled with excitement. Her robes were a blood red, as well as her staff with a glowing ball at its tip.

"And I? I am Xavier, wielder of the Shadow Blade. And we are the Council."

Shocked? You should have seen the look on my face as I stood there, watching this, this Council shine in what seemed to be their own light. I'm pretty sure everyone had some question on their mind, but only Valerie spoke. I suppose she's the most outspoken of the bunch.

"I want to know what's going on, and I want to know it now!"

Sheesh, talk about outspoken. This girl really needs a time out, seriously. Xavier took a step forward.

"Well it's all really simple. We, are The Council, you, are the Guardians. We open the portal, you journey through. You learn to harness your powers, and use them on the other side. Anymore questions?"

"Yeah, I have one..." Carlos gave a sigh from his bloody corner. "Is anyone gonna help me here or what?!"
