War of my daily life, chapter 6

I never know just how much had happened lately. I mean, come on, I was admitted into the hospital because of my mom’s boyfriend. And, I haven’t seen or talked to mom or Mike is a long time. And I got used to calling Dad “dad” now, I actually like that name, seeing him everyday, and having REAL conversations with him. I hope I will never have to go through what I went through before, ever again.

--“…was wonderful” “Huh? Sorry I was thinking about all that has happened lately” “Its alright, I was saying how I had a great time tonight.” “Oh me too!” Little did I know, life would not be the same ever again!

We kissed for what seemed like an eternity, and I forgot about where I was, all I thought about was Tom and I. Tom Tanner and I, Sarah Hunt. We slowly walked back to my house, soaking in the memories of the year we have been together. This was the best and worst year of my life! When we got to the front steps, I figured we would just kiss and say Goodnight, and later in the night, call and talk for a long time, about nothing important, we would just talk to hear each other’s voice. But, instead, he asked to come inside, he needed to talk to my father. Of course I said yes and he walked to the living room with me. Daddy seemed pleased to see Tom. Tom asked me to go make some tea for everyone. I left them two to talk, and went and started making the tea. When I came back, about 15 minutes later, Daddy was sitting there crying!

I asked “What’s wrong”?

And Tom got down on his knee and proposed to me! Score one for best year! And as you would expect, I said YES and kissed him like there would be no tomorrow. We heard some coughing behind us, knowing it must be awkward for my father to see us making out, we stopped. Immediately!

I am to be…a bride, a wife, and hopefully a mother. We can have little kids running around, a house of our own! I couldn’t believe it!

Tommy, Jane, Liza, Carrie, James, John, Lily, Frank, and Slogan jumped out of the closet! It had all been planned! The crying, it was all planned! How romantic! It was like a big surprise party! It was one of the GREATEST days of my life!

A week later, we were planning for the wedding and I went Tom to the store to look at the roses. An hour later he still had not returned from the story, which was just down the block! I called his cell phone, and an unrecognizable voice answered the phone.

“Hello?” “Hi. Um. Who is this?” “Hi. Is this um…Mrs. Sarah?” “Yes, it is. Is there a problem?” “Yes, your…fiancé has been…in a car accident.” “Oh my goodness! Is he alright?” “No, I am sorry he is dead! I need you to come to the station, to see if this is your…”

“Sarah GET UP!” “Huh? What? Is Tom alright?” “What? Of course he is, he’s downstairs waiting for you!”

She let that sink in, it was only a dream!! She walked downstairs in her nightgown, ready to get planning. She never knew how gleaming Tom’s eyes were! She ran up to him and kissed him. Then, they went to the kitchen and started discussing the plans for the flowers. They chose daffodils and tulips. Then they chose the 3 main meal plans for the guests to choose from. Baked chicken, corn on the cob, roasted beans, and chocolate cake or steak, baked potato, cream corn, and Strawberry Shortcake. Although more expensive, most people will probably choose the steak meal. Sarah knew she would!

The date for the wedding was 4 months away, a short time away, but they were ready. Sarah went with her bride’s maids to go look at the dresses. The bride’s maids dresses were cream colored with sparkles at the bottom. The bride’s dress was long, flowing, and white. It was a tube-topped dress and the shoes were also white and plain, but comfy. She would be standing on them for a while, so they better be!
