The swetest of things

I had been watching her for some time, of course. My beautiful angel, Ma belle seraphim. I watched her as she talked to those men in the corner, Mon Dieu! They weren't good enough for her anyway! I watched her as she danced to that music mortals seem to love, the light reflected off of the jewels in her dress and she spun and swayed until I was almost hypnotized by the beauty of it all.

I watched as she pulled away from the rest of the mortals, out into the silvery moonlight the gave her skin a beautiful glow. There couldn't be a more beautiful woman in all of Paris. I would have her, her and no other.

I stepped out after her, silently as I usually did. The thirst I had for this beauty was rising in me but the long centuries had taught me to control it until the right moment.

"Ma cherie," I said softly to her, the French words rising to my lips as easily as any other language. She turned to look at me, I had clearly startled her, I have that effect on humans.

"Monsiour," she replied "Forgive me, I did not see you." Mon Dieu! She had the voice of an angel! That sweet voice rang like a song in my ears. Seven hundred years in blood and I should have had more control then this but her beauty was so...intoxicating.

"But I saw you, cherie. And I am entranced by the beauty you possess." I took her delicate hand in mine and kissed it, "Ahh, but perhaps beauty itself seems flawed in your presence."

"Merci monsiour, never have kinder words touched my ears." Again that beautiful voice sang sweet melodies in my ears.

I carressed her cheek softly and let my hand pass momentarily over her neck. Right over the vein full of her sweet blood, right over the vein I longed to sink my fangs into. I took her hand again and, mimicing the dance taking place in the ballroom, turned her so her back was to me and held her hands in front of her. She was completely in my control. Completely at my mercy.

The thirst I had for her was rising in me now, I knew it wouldn't be long before I took her. But I could control the thirst, I wasn't so weak as THAT.

I leaned my head toward her neck and her scent filled me, the scent of beauty. The scent of temptation.

"Oui, Ma Cherie," I whispered to her, "you are so beautiful. You are my angel."

The thirst was stronger now, clawing inside me to escape. Take her, it said, you know you want her, you know you want to taste her. But still I silenced it. Kiss after kiss I placed upon her neck, her eyes closed hiding a world of pleasure brought on by my enchanted kisses.

With every kiss I could feel the blood rushing through her even more, and the thirst was uncontrollable. I longed to sink my fangs into the neck of this angel, I longed to taste the sweet blood inside of her.

My last kiss fell upon her neck, my most passionate, my most deadly. A soft yet sharp intake of breath from her, and her words reached my ears.

"S'ilvous plait, monsieur. Why stop?"

But my thirst would not hear her plea. It craved her blood, not her pleasure. And though I could see pleasure in her mind, I did not care.

I placed my lips on her neck and let them linger until I could feel the vein pulsing beneath them. It was then I opened my lips and let my fangs graze her skin, though not yet pierce it. I tried to hold that moment off as long as possible. But I could not hold it, with every beat of her heart the beast inside me grew wilder, more uncontrollable. And I surrendered to it.

And as my fangs pirced her flesh a soft moan of pain escaped her lips. Its alright cherie, I though, the pain does not last.

Her heart slowed to a crawl, unable to keep up its strong beat. Her skin had become as pale as my own. She was very near death, I could bring over to my self. But I did not desire a companion, the years had taught me the value of solitude.

And just before she passed from this world I leaned toward her ear.

"Dormez bien, mon amour," I whispered, sleep well, my love.

I like it. Very much so, you have quite a knack for capturing the feeding of vampires. ^.^ Keep it up. I am taking it as one of your earlier pieces though? Yes? Seems a little different to your later work.

Whoa, the beauty of it, flawless

The story of this was very well done, and a little sad, due to the fact that she won't be among us again. Still, the death was beautiful.

wow. very powerful, and interesting... scary background, but it went along with the story. I love how you ended it to, with her dying in his arms, and he accepting that.

    very well written.

    Good luck!
