The hot tears rolled down my cheeks. I was overcome with rage, one minute I was living a happy life the next doubt, fear and anger took over. Everything I had once loved in life had all been a lie. I looked up at the face of the person who had caused me all this pain confused on how he would do such a thing. He smiled as he raised his hand in my direction. I readied myself for death, embraced it, wanting this nightmare to end. To think the day had started perfectly on the last day of school…..

Axel woke up to his alarm clock’s constant ringing. He took off his pajamas and wore his school uniform. He went to the kitchen to hear the voice of his favorite person in the world, his mother. He hugged her and then sat next to her at the table. There in his usual place were homemade pancakes a rare delicacy. His mom saw his expression smiled and said “A special meal for my special boy on his special day.” He kissed his mom on her forehead and said “I love you mom.” His brother entered the room and sat down across from them and asked his mom, “Why do we have to be so poor?” His mom stared at him for a moment then said “What do you mean honey? I thought you were happy?” “No I’m not happy!” he began shouting, “Everyone else has a PS3 or an Xbox360 or at least a TV but we have nothing. The rest of his family could only stare as he trembled in rage and continued ranting on. Then he ate his breakfast, apologized and left. Breakfast progressed in silence until his mother said “We’ve got to go now Axel. You don’t want to be late for the last day of school.”

Axel looked at the mirror before leaving and admired his reflection “At least, I look good on the last day of school,” he said before hurrying after his mom to their car. He hopped into the back seat and closed the door. The car was very old and previously used many times by many different people. The car showed its age being over 35 years old with rust and oil leaks. As, the car steadily progressed forward he asked his mom “Are we going to stop anywhere mommy?” His mom replied “We’re going to pick up Jeff and Sarah because their parents are busy.” Axel smiled; his only two friends were Sarah and Jeff. “It looks like the last day of school this year won’t be as bad as last year’s,” he thought, remembering the last day of school last year where he was bullied, tormented, lonely, friendless and distraught.

Axel was talking with his best friend Jeff on their way to Sarah’s home. They talked mostly about their teachers, their grades, what they’re going to do in the summer, books and a movie that wasn’t due to come out for a month. Axel pondered especially on the movie topic knowing he would never watch a film in the cinema. His mom contributed to the discussion quite a lot telling them to behave and such especially since she was a teacher in the school. They arrived at Sarah’s house in a while. She kissed her little brother goodbye and sat next to Axel and said “How are you doing boys?” They answered at the same time saying “We’re fine.” The car progressed to the school steadily and everything was normal, except for one thing, Axel saw his brother riding with his gang to school “That’s odd," Axel thought "usually they come late,” Axel shrugged “Maybe they decided to come early today because today’s the last day,” he thought. He turned away without even realizing the significance of what he was seeing.
