You ask me why I did it? The answer is smiple; Revenge. I know the question that is on your lips, 'for what?' I'm correct, aren't I? I could tell you what He did. I could tell you how He stabbed the Dagger of Betrayal into my back as He embraced me as a friend. I could tell you how He broke my body and my spirit. I could tell you a lot of things, but what He did does not matter anymore. He is nothing more then a grease spot on the Canvas this world call Mankind.1
I will tell you as the Dagger pierced my heart, as it had pierced the hearts of so many before me, The Fire for Vengeance was ignited. It fed on my every thought as the days progressed until it consumed me completely. Every waking hour I planned my revenge. As I slept, I dreamed of it.2
It was near a year later before I finally could act on my plans. It was summer then, and the beach was crowded. He is there. I smile seeing Him, a smile He mistakes for one of friendship. I had convinced him that his betrayal was forgiven and forgotten. HA! I would sooner cut out my own heart than open it to him.3
He calls my name in a friendly voice, motioning me over. I go. 'Good to see you,' He says. 'Beach is crowded today.'4
'Tourist,' I say, shaking my head. 'God's most detested creation,' second only to Him. 'I'm not one for the beach in the summer. I actually only came here to find you.' 5
'Really?'6
'Yes.' I feed him my well rehearsed lie. 'My uncle is gone for the weekend, and I'm allowed use of his boat. I was wondering if you wish to accompany me.'7
'Accompany?' He repeats. 'What makes you all proper today? Sure I'll accompany you. Should I bring my fishing gear?'8
'Do boat's have another propose?' I ask with a laugh. 'I'll see you around six tomorrow morning?'9
'Six? Bit early.'10
'Well, most fishers go out at four or five.'11
'Still, six is too early. There will be fish left around eight-ish. That's the earliest I'll be ready.'12
'Fine. I'll see you then.' I am not happy. I had planned for six. I have no other choice though. I have to take the opportunity as it presents itself, or risk losing it completely.13
8:00 the next morning found me waiting by the door for Him. 8:10 passed with me nervously drumming my fingers. By 8:20 I am in a state of near panic. He knew of my plans! He knew, and He would not come! 8:25 found me opening the door for Him.14
'Sorry we're late,' He said.15
'We?'16
'My wife wanted to come. That's alright isn't it?'17
No! NO NO NO NO NO!!!! 'Of course.' I say with a smile which was almost painful. 'C'mon let's put Your stuff in my car.'18
As we enter the garage a new thought enters my head. I would do it here! Here, away from the prying eyes of the other! This is the chance I was waiting for!19
I say His name. It leaves a foul taste in my mouth. He turns, His eyes immediately fixing on the black unforgiving barrel of the gun in my hand. 'What is that for?' He asks stupidly.20
'Do you think I've forgotten what You did?' I hiss. 'do you think I've forgotten how it feels to have the Dagger in my back?'21
'You said you forgave Me.' He is shaking. A wet spot appears on the front of His pants as His bladder lets go.22
'I lied,' I say, cocking the gun. 'You know all about lies, don't You?' He is about to beg for his life, but the gun fires, though I don't recall pulling the trigger. The gun fires and His brains decorate the wall. The little chunks of raw meat detach themselves from the now red wall and fall with a sickening splat, like clay. Like clay when your unfinished sculpture collapses. That is what He was! And the Body, It stands of a moment, then kneels before me. It kneels for the instance before It falls. I laugh. His wife screams runs in, and screams again. I laugh. Even as I sit here in this white walled prison; this fire-less Hell, I laugh. I won! I beat him! I WON!!!23

Author notes
I purposly put no names or discriptions because just about everyone has been betrayed before, and about half of you think of doing this very thing, though only few act. Oh, and if you can't tell, the 'white walled prison' is a nut house. Love you all.

Good luck in the contest I thank you for taking the time to enter
The story has some very good points to it and your expressive nature as far as the characters is well done.
I think you could use more detailing in certain areas, "where he is shot" for example, you could go into more detail rather than just have his brains hitting the wall.
Please check over your spelling as well. Otherwise it's a good story. -
This is scary. You writ it well.
No! NO NO NO NO NO!!!! 'Of course.' I say with a smile which was almost painful. 'C'mon let's put Your stuff in my car.'
