Contest Entry

Rya sat staring at the wall across from his chair. He was bored enough to sit there and watch the freshly painted surface dry. He hadn't been asked to join in with everyone else. The tutor knew he hated having to be included in the activities that the entire class were meant to be joining in with, but she had long given up hope of him ever wanting to be involved with, as he put it "The Socialising dimwits of the 21st century." 1

He was an outcast in this world of people who cared too deeply about who liked them and what they looked like. Their biggest problems being If their bulging backsides looked too big in their latest set of designer mini skirts, Or if they looked "cool" in their Burberry hats and their Addidas Tracksuit bottoms tucked into their socks. Even if he did try to interact people would call him a freak, roll their eyes and walk away. He didn't really give a Damn anymore, why care about what all these shallow people think about him anyway. He only needed himself and his own support, that would do him just fine.2

He turned away and stared around the room. His eyes came to rest on a trio of people that had just walked in. One was a Girl. Her eyes were the first thing he noticed. They had a Depth to them He had never seen before, Brown with what seemed to be a hint of green. And her cropped brown hair made her face stand out to him even more. The Other girl wasn't as appealing to him, but was equally as interesting she had dark black hair plaited into one long ponytail down her back, and she had curious and inquisitive blue eyes. Then behind both of them there was a Boy slightly taller than the previous Newcomer, with similar eyes and hair colouring. Possibly he was related to the second girl. He had spiked hair and was wearing what looked like battle worn clothes, Infact all three of them were wearing similar styles of clothing.3

They appeared to be searching for someone. The Leading girl's eyes came to rest on him. He sat there not releasing his gaze from hers. She mumbled something to her two friends and nodded in his direction. Rya became a little uneasy, but stood his ground. The girl with the Blue eyes pulled an Item out of her pocket, made and hand gesture and then relaxed. They began to move toward him, and that was when He realised that no one else was moving. "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO!?" he yelled at them. They just kept moving toward him without a word. "OK then, you’re gonna play this game eh... Ok I can live with that." He stood there calculating, and searching, waiting and watching them as they swerved between the frozen statuettes of the people.4

They stopped and the Boy announced "Rya Haymeir, come with us. If you don't you will be in danger and you won't be able to fulfil the destiny you were sent here to do." He stared confused forgetting about all the calculations he had just made. "Unfreeze them, and then I'll come." The girl with the Item she used to freeze people did the same hand gesture one more time and everyone around Rya sprung back to life. "Now come on Rya before..." He was interrupted by the sound of a wall being bulldozed to the ground by what He could only describe as a Demon. Chaos ensued as the Tutor ushered everyone out, but after downright refusing to leave, Rya and the three new people, were left to go against this Beast. "GET BACK RYA. WE CAN HANDLE THIS." 5

The Girl with the freezing Item jumped forward, she made the motion but it didn't have any effect on the Demon, she tried it again and again only to be simply thrown violently aside by the Demon. "The Freezing Talisman had no Effect on the Demon Transformation Pendant" Yelled the Leading girl. The Boy Ran over to help his sister, It turned to meet the special little item that he held in his hand. It was some kind of pendant with A lightning bolt shaped gem. He aimed for the Demon and shot at it, He had to hit the demon several times before it eventually fell, and slowly changed into a relatively normal looking human man in what appeared to be Army Garb. Without a moment for them to take a breath the blur of a canvas covered Woman rushed in knocking the Boy for six. Luckily the Girl with the "Freezing Talisman" had recovered from her run in from the last attack and froze the speeding woman in her tracks.6

"Grab the Items and let’s go Before More come to Play" Yelled the leading girl. She turned To Rya and Said "Oh by the way, I'm Helen." Rya was taken aback but took her hand and shook it, "Erm... I'm Rya" He shrugged. She laughed and said "yeah I Know." The Moment was somewhat ruined by the sound and sight of a fireball blowing up a chair next to Rya. "INCOMING" yelled the Boy and with that another torrent of Fireballs hit the room. They ducked behind a table that was leaning on its side. "This Is Natalie and Harvey" Helen said quietly... "Don’t worry; we’re here to stop them from killing you." Rya Nodded, and slowly they all rose, to see a group of about eight with the two they had allready defeated joiming them. "Here use this Rya." Helen tossed a small item at him, he caught it and gave it a quick glance. It was what looked like a marble, it had a green inner pattern, however the outside of it glowed a soft white. "Use it against them." Helen Shouted above the growing noise. 7

Harvey took no time in going straight in for the kill. Dodging the fireball shooting item, He managed to hit the Man holding it, He ran over and took the pendant from him turning in time to try and help Natalie who had frozen a couple but was becoming overwhelmed by two others. Rya Was unsure of what he needed to do to activate this thing,  and his situation wasn't being helped by the woman that was getting increasingly closer to him using her Flying ability. He was on edge and at the last second He instinctivly Moved the hand holding the "Marble" toward her and to his amazment it shot out a green electric blast. It hit her head on and stopped her flying any closer. As he had seen the others do, he took her item which was a bright red feather. After he had removed it from her clutches the woman crashed to the floor. He examined it for a second or two, but was disturbed by Helen shouting them back. 8

Grabbing what Items they could from those that had fallen, They all jumped back behind a wall that had been half demolished during the battle. Helen Revealed to them a small stone pendant, she quickly told Rya that it was able to make translocating tunnels, enabling them to get anywhere in the world alomost insntaneously. She shot a small beam from it and from nowhere a purple coloured Tunnel formed. Natalie and Harvey didn't need telling twice what to do, both of them swiftly Jumped in, Rya was looking at a critical moment, either stay here and be slaughtered or jump through a tunnel to somewhere he didn't even know. He quickly changed his mind when a blast of red Energy knocked down the remainder of the wall. "I think I'll take my chances with you!" Rya Yelled, and with that They Both Jumped through the Tunnel.9
