Today, Tuesday, may have just seemed like an average Tuesday. Nothing out of the ordinary at all. It was late afternoon, and most people were in their houses, leaving the New Jersey streets tranquil. All except one lone figure wandering with her head down along the road.
A gust of wind blew, and the person finally glanced up. She was a girl-a very pretty looking girl wearing ripped jeans, a black shirt with white skulls, and a slightly worn out pair of converse. Her black, straight hair looked perfect, and she had beautiful, chocolate brown eyes lined with black and purple eyeshadow.
Nearing a small park, she was surprised to see several peole she knew. ''Oh my G-d, I must've lost my f.cking mind. That can't be who I think it is,'' she muttered to herself. At the park, there were five men and what were probably their girl friends, who looked extremely perplexed. Coming closer, the girl soon figured out why and smiled. One of the young women was holding a screaming baby. Almost laughing but not quite, she walked up to them and asked, "You guys want some help?"
The women holding the baby looked a little suspicious and was about to say something when a man with short black hair grabbed it and shoved it at her.
"Oh, G-d, please," said the man, who had a lip piercing and nose ring, looking towards the sky.
After rocking the baby for couple of minutes and murmuring soothing noises to it, the girl looked up and smiled. All the people had relieved expressions, and some even looked amused.
"So...uh, thanks, and who are you?" Asked the man with very curly, poofy hair.
"I'm Liz," she answered, her smile changing into a grin.
"Oh, well, I'm Ray and -" He didn't get to finish because the short man with the nose and lip ring broke in, "Where the f.ck did you learn how to do that?"
"Do what?" Liz asked.
"Make the evil demon child shut-up!" The pretty girl he was holding hands with shoved him playfully and said, "Frankie, that is not an evil demon child, its just a little baby."
The man, Frankie, turned to her with wide eyes and a very serious expression, "That's what it wants you to think, but really it's going to eat you in your sleep."
"Frankie, you're an idiot," choked out the skinny man with short black hair.
"We should definitely make that into a horror movie," added the pale man, who had black hair, too.
The blonde-haired man with a pierced lip, who had been quiet till now suggested, "When Babies Attack?"
Liz, who was some how managing to laugh hysterically without dropping the baby, made a straight face and interrupted, "No, no, it should definitely be your next music video," she said very seriously.
Everyone turned back to Liz with some what shocked or entertained faces. "I dunno," Frankie said, "what do you think, Gee?"
Gerard looked thoughtful for a moment before answering, "Uh, no."
"Aw, c'mon, you're no fun," whined Frankie with a pouty face, causing Ray to smack him in the head.
"Hey, Jamia, Toro hurt my head!" The girl standing next to him frowned slightly and kissed his head.
"Aw," cooed Liz. She had known Frank and Jamia were cute, but not that cute.
"Well, I guess you know them, but not me," spoke up the girl holding Mikey's hand. "I'm Alicia, that's Jamia, that's Zephra, that's Eliza, and that's Rachael," Alicia said pointing to each person.
"And who's this little cutie?" Liz asked, smiling down at the baby still in her arms.
"Oh, that's Nolan Alexander James," answered Mikey.
"He's our nephew; he's three months old," Alicia added.
"My sister-in-law thought it might be good practice to watch him the whole day," finished Mikey.
Liz grinned and whispered, rather loudly, to Gerard, "Isn't it adorable how they finish each other's sentences?"
Gerard chuckled and fake whispered back, "Yeah," causing Mikey and Alicia to blush. "Aw, and they blush, too, that's so cute!" Liz squeaked, giving Frankie hysterics. Liz turned to him and said, "And Jamia's beautiful," causing Frank to blush and Ray to yell, "Whipped!"
Now, Liz turned to him with a raised eyebrow, "And you're not?" That shut him up.
She looked down at the little boy who was almost asleep in her arms. "You're just perfect, little prince." He really was. Angelic face with big, beautiful eyes and soft, dark brown hair. Alicia smiled fondly at her. "So are you from around here?"
"Nah, my family and I are visiting our cousins in Newark."
"Well, if you're not busy," Mikey asked, "then you could come hang out with us."
"That would be amazing."
The group headed to an apartment they all shared. "I should definitely go post this address on MySpace."
"You wouldn't," Gerard said, narrowing his eyes at her. Liz smiled innocently, "Oh, but wouldn't I?"
"You really wouldn't, would you?" Asked Ray.
"No, of course not, but it would be incredibly entertaining."
"Yeah, maybe for you," said Bob sarcasticly. Liz was about to respond when Nolan started crying again. "Well, what's wrong with you, mister?"
Frank smelled it first. "Oh my G-d, I told you it was trying to kill us. Death by aphyxiation!"
Liz grinned at sweetly at him, "You smelled it, you change it," she said as she carefully handed him the baby. Gerard burst into laughter at poor Frankie's disturbed face. Frankie turned to Jamia, "Jamia, help, please." He pleaded with everyone until Liz finally took the poor kid back and changed his diaper.
"All better, little prince, those wimps just can't handle it."
Frank promptly agreed, but Ray objected, "Hey! I'm not a wimp!"
"Oh, so you'll change him next time?"
"It's Mikey and Alicia who are s'posed to be practicing."
"Wait-what happened to Mikey and Gerard?" Asked Bob. Everyone looked at Bob and then looked around the living room. Alicia looked thoughtful before saying, "I bet they're making coffee!"
"Oooh, I want some coffee!" Shouted Liz.
Sure enough, they entered the kitchen to the lovely smell of coffee, and Gerard and Mikey drinking it like they breathe air. "Can I have some coffee?" Asked, more like yelled, Liz. Frankie looked wearily at her before turning to the others and saying, "Something tells me giving her caffeine is not a good idea."
Every one else agreed.
"Hey you guys are no fair," she whined, sticking out her tongue. "I'm not going to share my oreos with you anymore, I'm just going to kidnap the baby and hold it hostage in the living room."
"But I want some oreos," said Ray.
"Too bad, so sad," Liz answered as she picked up Nolan and went into the living room.
Starting with Mikey, every one else slowly began to follow her. Mikey and Alicia sat by Liz on one of the many couches in the living room. "So how did you get so good with kids?" Mikey asked.
"My mom and dad made me take one of those parenting classes before my little sister was born," responded Liz, shrugging her shoulders.
"Aww, how old is your little sister?" Asked Alicia.
For a few minutes Liz just silently stared at the baby before saying, very softly, "She would have been three today." Looking up, every one saw that she had tears in her eyes. "There were complications when she was born, she didnt make it through the night."
Jamia, Alicia, Zephra, and Rachael all promptly hugged Liz, while the guys muttered apologies.
"Her name was Madison Elizabeth, and even though she's gone, I'll always remember her. They always say that the greatest gifts come in the smallest sizes. Well, where ever it is that people go when they die, I'm sure she made it a happier place." Liz looked down and smiled at the baby, when she looked up, even though there were still tears in her eyes, she was still smiling.
