A boy

A boy
walked down the street
which was quiet and most people
smiled at him and he smiled back
while he picked the flowers
growing around the huge trees.
A lot of red ones
but much more blue
because they looked like the sky
and his eyes and the ocean.
He put them in his hand
and when he gave them to his mother
they were dried out but she smiled
and she crouched so he could see the sky
in her eyes.

A boy
blew out the seven candles
on his birthday cake
and he didn't wish for anything
but a puppy and a barbie doll
and he knew those were for girls
but he couldn't care less
and he told his wish to all of his friends
because he had forgotten
that his wish wouldn't come true when he told.
They didn't laugh and they didn't cry
so he thought it was alright
and he ate his cake with a little fork
and just like he thought
his wish never came true.

A boy
watched a film which was for children
above twelve years old
and all of his friends were scared
because none of them were twelve
and they covered their eyes
but he didn't because he still believed
in happy endings and guardian angels
and he tried to soothe them
with this knowledge and they laughed
and he was happy
because they weren't scared anymore.
He got angry when they started
to throw pillows at each other
and mostly at him.

A boy
fell in love with life slowly
and it wasn't his fault
that tears came to his eyes whenever he saw
a rainbow or when the sun shone
on his face warming him all over
because he knew it wasn't everlasting
and he also knew how his love for life
would never end.
He blew out sixteen candles and wished
that his feeling would never end
and he never told anyone about it
only the little ducks in the pond
and he thought it was alright
and that his wish would come true.
He went out on the street
and told everyone how he always
got out of bed with such a good feeling
and how he didn't want to sleep at night
because he didn't want to miss a thing
and everyone was silent and just smiled at him
and he thought everything was alright
and he believed their smiles
and he didn't see how they were
so jealous at him.

A boy
loved the world so much
and hoped it would never let him down
but it did that one day
when he went outside and walked
down the street and told everyone
that he was in love.
That day the world turned his back on him
the people made him close his eyes
and that hurt him more than the many
punches and kicks and he cried
not out of pain but because he had been wrong
and his love wasn't everlasting
and it wasn't all alright
it was actually very wrong.
He wished he could blow more candles
and then he wouldn't tell anyone
but he screamed his wish out loud
and they all laughed and he cried
and he knew it had never been alright.
And then he didn't see anything
except for the truth and the sky
in his own eyes and he knew
that his wishes would never come true

This is nice but a little unorganized. Your ideas are just sort of scattered around, and it doesn't competely flow well. The description is good. There are small errors like using "which" where you should use "that". That's a pretty common one, though. A lot of people think that those two words are interchangable, but they aren't. One comes after a comma. I'm not sure I understand the third stanza at all. The rest has a sad, sweet air to it. Good job.

Aww, that poem kinda made me sad. It reminded me a lot of someone who used to slam at my school. Anyways, I thought it was an excelleant poem. It was nice how you started every new section as "A Boy...". I thought the last two sections were a bit long, though. Perhaps it would be better if you broke it up into several different parts? I don't know how that would be, but it never hurts to try!
Good job! This poem was one of my favs! :]

oh goodness how wonderfully written! i really really loved it... it was so sad and meaningful. well done! i cant really find any major errors or things that could be improved, although there is one thing where you said "so jealous at him." ... it should be "so jealous of him"
well done once again and thanks for entering!
