Lover's Prelude- Chapter 11

Dianna arrived at French  class 10 minutes  before everyone  else on  Monday morning.  "Good morning  Ms. Rivers  what can  I  do  for you?" Mr.  Anderson  greeted her.  " My mom said you called on Friday saying that I've been distracted in class and  I was  wondering  the fact that I've  been distracted  has affected my grade?"  Mr.  Anderson  pulled out his grade book and scanned down the list and he found  Dianna's   name  "No, being distracted hasn't affected your grade  thus  far  but  just try to focus on  the course work and not day dream."  "Ok."  Dianna answered nodding her  head   She made a mental note  ' Don't daydream about  Jimmy  during  French.'  She took  her seat and class seemed to fly by. During  lunch all Dianna and her  friends could talk about was  Girls   Night out and how much  fun Saturday night had been. Suddenly  Abby  tapped Dianna on the shoulder  " Hottie alert at 0800."  She  whispered. Dianna turned around  and noticed that  Jimmy  was standing  right  behind her chair.   "Hey  Diana, did you have fun on Saturday night? "   Jimmy  asked.    Dianna  grinned  " Oh yeah, definitely  your band is awesome."    She answered.    "I was wondering if you busy  Friday night and wanted to go to a movie?"   Jimmy inquired.   Dianna was in   a state of shock  not  able to believe that Jimmy was asking her out on a  date.    " Yeah sure what time will you  pick me up?"    " Quarter of  7."   Jimmy answered.  "Ok."    Jimmy  strode off toward his table to  join  his jock friends   "Way to  go Di!"  Abby  shouted  "You scored a  date with the hottest guy in the junior class."     "You better tell us all the details on Saturday. " Kelly said.  "Oh  trust me   I will." Dianna said.    She still couldn't believe that Jimmy had asked her out on a date.  She felt like she was walking on air.1

Dianna  burst through the  front door of her  house after school and ran into the kitchen to tell her mom the exciting news.  "Mom,  guess what?, I've got a  date with  Jimmy Richards on Friday night."  "Who's Jimmy Richards?" her mother asked skeptically.  "Just about the hottest guy in the  junior class  and the lead guitarist of the best local band ever!"   " Just be safe   I don't want  the two off you to be  doing any hanky-panky kinky sex stuff." Her mom  warned.  " Don't worry mom, we won't  do anything dirty we're  just going to a movie." 2

Dianna ran up to her room and pulled out her  journal in it she wrote the following:3

OMG!  Jimmy Richards asked me to go out to  the movies with  him on Friday night.  I can't believe it! I'm in total shock  Jimmy seems like a pretty good  guy. Who knows?  Maybe we'll become and item. Wouldn't that be something else?4
