February 4th (Rosemont)

Dear Diary,

This so totally brightened up my day. You would not believe what happened to me on the train. This guy came up to me on the train and was like, “Is this seat taken?”

So of course I said, “No, but you wouldn’t want to sit with a wreck. I might throw the train over the tracks.”

“Um...okay. I’ll make sure to stop you then. I’m Trey. I go to FDPHS.”

“Oh, really? That’s a cowinkydink. I go there too. I live in Rosemont. I’m getting off at this stop.” I said.

“Cool,” Trey said. “I’m getting off here too. I have to go to work at the Pizza Hut on Lane Street.”

“Oh...that’s right around the corner from my street; Dumont Avenue. Maybe I’ll pop in and say hi after I change out of my uniform.” I said.

“Come at around 7:30pm. That’s when my shift ends. I’ll change out of my work clothes and then sit down with you. Maybe we can have dinner together...if you’re not tied down.” Trey looked at me. “I wouldn’t be surprised if someone as beautiful as you was tied down anyway.”

I looked at him and smiled. “Don’t worry, I’m not tyed down. As a matter of fact, I’m as free as a bird.”

So then he got up and went out of the train, and I followed.

"That's great." Trey said.

"What great?" I replied, totally confused.

"That you're as 'free as a bird'". he said, looking at me. "You know, you're one of the most beautiful girls that I have ever met."

"Oh really," I joked. "Don't let your mom hear you say that! She migth be jealous!"

"Yeah..." Trey said. He didn't look like he got the joke.

"You know...mothers always think that they're the most beautiful thing to their sons..." I tried to explain the joke.

"Yeah, that's a real knee-slapper. Um, look...I really have to go. And um, about that date this evening..." he looked slightly uncomfortable.

"About the date..." I promted.

"Can you forget I ever asked you out?" he said, looking a bit sheepish and guilty at the same time.

"Why?" I asked.

"That's why." he pointed towards a figure walking down the street.

Please tell me what you think
