She Will Be Loved {A Jonas Brothers Fan Fiction} Introduction

Song Used: She Will Be Loved by Maroon 5

When I was just thirteen years old, I met the three most amazing boys in my life. They helped me through the toughest of things; my bout of depression, my grief for a life I would never regain. They helped me overcome the abuse I faced on a regular basis; they kept secrets for me. I never realized how much they helped me; that is, before they became The Jonas Brothers.

I grew up in Wyckoff, New Jersey with the boys; I was a year or so younger than Kevin, the eldest brother. He was the one that I was, admittedly, closest to. Joseph and Nick were sweethearts to me too, but they were too young to understand what I had been through as of yet. So, when things got rough at home, it was Kevin’s bedroom window that I threw pebbles at. I would climb the lattice work on that side of the house and try to escape from the hell I was living in at the time.

Their music soothed me. It made me feel like they understood everything that any teenager was going through. Whether it was their angelic voices belting out the lyrics, or their jamming out on the guitar, drums, and keyboard, they could always chill me out.

I could trust the Jonas boys. They were the only ones I could trust; but four years into meeting the boys and a week before I turned 17, I felt betrayed. They had signed a record deal with Hollywood Records. Things were looking up for them, and they were going to say goodbye to me sooner or later.

That day was by far the worst day of my entire life. We met on their front lawn, tears welling in our eyes as they packed all of their belongings into their car. I didn’t want them to leave; they couldn’t leave me with the monster I called Dad—but they had to. The fan mail was becoming overwhelming, their music videos were becoming viral, and soon, the fans would be mobbing the whole street.

I hugged each boy tightly and told them to call me whenever they could, but none of them would look at me for too long. I guessed that they were all really upset too. I hugged their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jonas and they whispered in my ear how much they loved me and wished that I could be their daughter. It puzzled me slightly, because they had never said anything of the like to me before. Unless. No, they wouldn’t know.

They all piled into their car and waved goodbye, driving off to an airport somewhere. They were going to Los Angeles so they could be closer to all of their fame hype.

Later that day, Child Protective Services knocked on my door. My parents wouldn’t allow them near me, and responded violently to all of their questions. I, Kelsey Smith, was taken away and made a ward of the state. The Jonas Brothers had told their parents.
