Screaming, kicking, scratching, biting.1
Spitting in my face, and always crying.2
Sweet little nonverbal autistic boy.3
You make my hand bleed, I’m your toy.4
Midnight comes and you don’t sleep.5
Holding you until you can keep6
Your little voice to a low roar.7
Watching you throw yourself down on the floor.8
Yet, there were those moments in our days.9
When you were wonderful, perfect in many ways.10
Finally, keeping your cloths on all day.11
Sitting at the table, or in your room, you quietly play.12
Giggle, tickle, hugs and a kiss.13
From now on it’s you I’ll miss.14
Now you've gone back to your daddy,15
I am for you so very happy.16
I will never forget you, and the wounds will heal.17
Some memories fade Jayden, but my love never will.18
Author notes
Jayden was a client at a residential house I worked at. He came in very angry. He learned a lot. He left us as a better person, and we were better for knowing him.

Hooves Applauds!
I think that this is a wonderful lesson. If you open your heart (even though it might hurt to let go) and love, you end up getting more in return than you expected. I bet, in his heart, Jayden will never forget you, whether he verbalizes it or not you left a big warm impression on his heart.
Hugs

That is so sweet, I really think this is a lasting memory for all of us to see your affection. What a wonderful way to keep a memory. I like this and Maybe I am a bit biased being I have three kids with PDD..But I still liked it a lot!

This is a good poem. I liked it. To me, it felt a little bittersweet. The ending made me smile and frown all at once. Good job on this poem
