He woke up to a pounding headake. It took him a while to remember why his head hurt so bad. Jake laied back on his pillows. His parents had been fighting about something the previous day. Jake stayed in his bed, mulling things over. It was a few minutes when he remembered what day it was.
He was eighteen. Jake got out of bed and dressed in his faded blue jeans and a red sweater. He opened his door and made his way to the bathroom. He stared at his reflection before opening the cabnet nad taking out a bottle of asprin. Jake opened the cap and then relized that the bottle was empty.
Furious, he through the bottle away. He then put his hands under some cold water. He splashed his face and grabbed a towel. Jake dried his face and left the bathroom. He walked down the stairs and into the kitchen.
Jake stopped so quickly it was as though he had hit an invisible wall. There was his mother. Dead on the floor. A pool of blood was around her head. His birthday cake was on the floor, covered in his mother's blood.
Jake looked around. It seemed that his father had ran.
