I guess this quote is true but for some birth is an unlucky circumstance. They could have these horrible lives full of nothing but hate and misery. For most tho this quote is true. Thanks for entering and good luck in the contest.

.. Wow. I love it. It reminds me of 'the lottery' .. And actually.. that gives me an interesting idea for a story.. =3.

But great work, the diction adds to it a lot.

"the infinite odds of the universe" is a great phrase. I really liked it. I liked the message as well. This story reads like I opened the last paragraph of a superlong english lit novel. Great job.

"Just think, of the millions of sperm on any given day, on all the chances that your parents meet (and grandparents before and so on), on all the worlds upon worlds that probably exist in the billion stars out there, we are here."

i was about to comment that same thing. strange. O___o

anyhow, i like this, very thought-provoking.

    Blu...
I've written stuff shorter than 500 words. Lately, it's been hard for me to write more than 200 words. But I feel that what you accomplished in 100 or less words are far more deeper the 200-500 "stories" I make and read.

The start of Life IS a lottery - either we win by living or lose by dying even before we get to "live" or "exist."

One thing though, not sure if it's just me but "sorrow gambler on the chugging train" - did you mean to say "sorrowful gambler"?

Anyway, at least Fal got to get this out of you! May this piece remain undeleted!

is it sorrowful? Sorrow makes sense to me, but sorrowful does as well. Blast it being an econ major

well, this is my way of cheering people up who are down in the dumps and cursing their fortune. Remind them that in the infinite universe, to be born is truly the ultimate lottery to win.

Just think, of the millions of sperm on any given day, on all the chances that your parents meet (and grandparents before and so on), on all the worlds upon worlds that probably exist in the billion stars out there, we are here.

Haha, I got to talk about my course (Degree) earlier I found I had very little to say.. x.x

Methinks you did a great job cheering those people up! This is a great reminder - may a number of those SW suicidals read this and see how fortunate they are!

I didn't want to say the sperm thing, but then, since you said it... HAH! We kicked 10 000 other sperms' asses! I thank my ancestors for life.. and their genes
