My Child: In Celebration of the life of James Neil Young and Cameron Mason

For all but a child, the connection of love comes to you. Love that cannot be seen but only felt as it surrounds. A human bond that oft' times disconnects and the hole that's left though the time be long, will mend.1

Love for your child comes deep within. A love that wells up from the core of your soul.  There is no force within or without that can break the bond, and a loss no time can mend.  2

The tears will flow for years to come until; there are no more tears to flow.  There are no measures to weigh against; Your mother, your father, or friend. It is a sorrow immeasurable and a sorrow without end.3

Yet, comfort comes in the happiness brought; by the life of my son within me. Happiness seen in his first smile, word, and step.  His smile melting the pain of any day away.  His love lighting my life without end.4

It is our souls that are connected like twinkling strands of lights.  Earthbound or transcended, the connection of souls extends from God, a bond no force can break.  It is my soul and my child's soul that will forever mend.  For we are one , and I will hold him until time ends skye2007

I must admit, I feel awkward critiquing such a beautiful and personal work, but here goes...

The emotion in this piece is so powerful. Excellent job. For anyone who has lost a child or who has a child they fear to lose, this really carries a forceful message.

"For all but a child, the connects of love comes to you." This line isn't very clear: also, did you mean "connections"?

"though the time be long be long , will mend" Did you mean to repeat be long, and if so, did you want the second one in () or something of the sort?

My verdict: publishable, once the first line is fixed. Great job--and incredibly touching work.

Thanks for entering such a beautiful piece in the contest, and good luck!
