It had became weary over the year but still, it looked just perfect..2
Her lace and satin dress looked so real and her hat full of feathers made her look like on of the ladies of the old 'NOBLETY'..3
She had her everywhere she went.. 'INSEPARABLE'.. A mother and a lost child..4
"It's a gift my grand-pa gave to me when I was a child.. And I had made a promise to him that I would never let it go.."5
She shouted those words out with all the strength she had left in her little body, looking at her step-mother with black wolf eyes..6
It all happened on a stormy night.. The rain just wouldn't stop..7
"It seems heaven has lost an angel" She thought to herself.. 8
She held her dolly close to her heart, so tight she would've broken her.. She held her tight.. Tighter the teeth of a lion devouring a fresh victim..9
"Dolly.. I know I promise grand-pa to keep you safe and I will.10
I'll forever keep you.. You the one who has always been there for me..11
In your eyes I see my struggling tears.. The tears you forbade me to shed.. The world is so cruel.."12
Oh poupée.. 13
You, a creature mistaken for insensitive but inside of whom the fire of life burns wildly..14
I shall never leave you dolly.. I know you'll always be by my side..15
Sophie made her porcelain dolls melt in the sun but no not me.. I'd never do that.. you're the only creature left for me in this world..16
I know, dolly, you're not just another PRETTY LADY made for the pleasure of little girls like me.. No! I am not keeping you for pleasure.. Never!17
At first I was keeping you for the promise I had made but now, I keep you as a part of me.. I keep you now to prove to the world that PRETTY LADIES have feelings too and are alive somewhere deep inside..18
I love you dolly "19
She said those words and the warmth of the rising sun was already enveloping the world.. The Earth was warm now but her heart was cold.. She was dead deep down inside.. and only the doll knew why..20
Author notes
Some things to clear the story for you:
This is the translated version.. so some things have changed but the meaning is still the same:
The little girl faces injustice from her step mother.. Her grand-father had given her that dolly when she was a little child.. This might sound like a cinderella story but this is how the teacher wanted it to be..
*sophie is a little girl from LES MALHEURS DE SOPHIE, a series of written by COMPTESSE DE SEGURE, a famous french writer.. Sophie was a little brat who always broke her dolls and melted them in the sun and such..
That's it.. I hope you enjoyed reading it..

Since I do not know French, I can only read the translate version. I adore the usage of porcelain doll's melting to bring out the injustice and it is so beautiful. Absolutely mesmerizing.

Honey this is so beautiful of course I enjoyed reading it. Best of luck in the contest. The picture is just perfect. -
that was so touching. it's a shame that poeple can be so cruel that a porcilin doll would suggest more affection and love. such a sad tale and you told it so beautifully.
