My Love

I sat in awe,

For what I saw;

Made me smile,

As wide as the Nile;

It was green,

It was keen;

It made me happy,

I know this sounds sappy;

Have it I must,

Or else it might just turn to dust;

It is my love,

Sure is better then a dove;

For it is just for me,

And I know you shall see;

I like it cold,

But not old;

I like it new,

For it is Mountain Dew.

Author notes

I wrote this poem cause my friends and I used to absolutly love the stuff. It made one of my friends laugh for 2 days cause it was so funny. Now I love Dr. Pepper. LOL.

    I loved your poem . I don't get to read poems in the category of humor . Usually they revolve around nature , regret or death . All the best to you for the contest .

    I LOVE THE ENDING!! It's SOOO FUNNY!!

    It has a really nice meter and you'd almost never guess that it's about Mountain Dew!! Good job! It's hilarious!!
