Another Desturbance Of The Peace!

Fighting in Verona leads to two deaths.

On Monday our streets were once again desturbed with the fighting between the Capulet's and the Montegue's. This time it proved fatal for two young men. Tybalt, from the house of Capulet and one of our honored Princes only family members, young Mercutio. The person responsible for all this is young Romeo of the house of Montegue. Romeo says it all started because of Tybalt, who wanted to duel with him but he declined so Mercutio stepped in.

Sources who witnessed this terrible crime say it all started when younge Tybalt walked over and started talking to some of Romeo's friends. It seems Tybalt was looking for Romeo because he crashed the Capulet's party the night before. "He seemed to be very angry and insulted by Romeo," says Benvolio from the house of Montegue was one of the few people who witnessed all this up close. Its said that when Romeo arrived that the trouble really started. "I told them that we should go somewhere more private after hearing the way Tybalt was talking. I knew that this confrontation would lead to a fight and I didn't think it a smart idea to be in such a public place," says Benvolio.

As the confrontation continued we learned from some sources that Romeo would not accept Tybalts challenge which angered him. "He would only say kind things to Tybalt," says one of the towns peoplewho was close to the fight when it occured. As the confrontation continued Tybalt and Mercutio drew their swords and began to duel. Another source says," Romeo tried to break it up but when he did Tybalt gave a fatal blow to Mercutio. Tybalt ran and Mercutio died." Romeo its said seemed to go mad when Tybalt returned. He fought him and killed him to avenge his dear friends death.

Our honorable Prince arrived on the scene not to long after Romeo had fled. The Capulet's and the Montegue's had also arrived. Lord and Lady Capulet were distraught and wanted the Prince to have Romeo killed. "Tybalt was a good man and Romeo is a villian for killing him," said Lady Capulet. The Montegue's of course thought that Romeo was only doing what he thought was honorable. The Prince however, seeing one of his own family dead was not at all calm. He has given Romeo a kind of mercy though because he killed Mercutio's murderer. He has banished young Romeo from Verona and has said that if Romeo tries to return he will be executed.

It seems we will never see Romeo in the streets of Verona again. This new tragedy has caused even more tension between the two fueding families. The Capulet's and Montegue's have both lost someone dear to them. The Prince however thinks that maybe this can end the fighting. With Tybalt dead and Romeo banished there is almost no one left to fight, and its known by all that the leaders of the two houses were Romeo and Tybalt.
