Procrastination Fever

I think I caught procrastination.
It’s not so easy to cure.
It’s possible I’ve had it all my life.
I couldn’t say for sure.

Procrastination is quite contagious.
It makes me slow you see.
It is affecting me right now.
It is controlling me.

If I could find a cure I wouldn’t.
It’s not like I don’t want to.
I might do it in a little while,
When I have less to do.

My symptoms are the worst in the morning,
When I don’t wanna get up.
It’s getting worse by the day.
I sit and just say yup.

I walk around wasting my time.
I should stay on task.
I prepare myself to start the mission,
But then I just sit and bask.

I list the things I should be doing,
But I just doodle instead.
I wish I didn’t have this disease.
I probably should be in bed.

Sure I have good intentions,
But everything is last minute.
Things still get done with my disability,
I push it to the limit.

I wish my condition was more convincing,
It’s serious stuff you know!
I’m not making it up this time.
This is not a new low.

I really do have the procrastination.
It’s in my blood you see.
My Mom had procrastination longer
She waited nine months to have me.

    Later...

I just read through your set of verse
    Quite excellent and keen
I meant to read them earlier
    The moment they were seen
But I admit with little hesitation
Not that I sought page turners...
    I too suffer from procrastination
And everything is on back burners!

It is about procrastinating. I didn't think it was too confusing lol. What confused you?... Maybe I can explain it?

At first, I was just like, "I sit and just say yup"...WTF? But then it just started to seem more and more real. So I have no beef with that. The one I don't like now is "I probably should be in bed." That seems a little forced to me. Maybe it is. But, this is the main point here: this poem is freaking hilarious. I relate so much. Good job. Good job.

Wow, I really loved this poem. (: I'm sure it couldn't have been that easy to write. The rhyming and words chosen make is flow so fluidly, a feat not easily accomplished. I loved the last line, it really made me laugh! (: Well done with this. (I'm procrastinating now too ;D)

Oh I sympathisis so much, right now the procrastination as me so bad, I should be studying for my exam but instead I am reviewing work. Lucky you.
I like your simple structure and rhyme, I think it ties it all together. And your funny last line about your mother is aces too, my mother waited nine months two weeks so I must have more genetic reason to be writing this . Yay, it is all explained, cool work, keep it up.

This poem lacks a natural rhythm. I wanted it to flow...to fall into it's own beat, but it never did. The rhymes felt forced...especially the one that ended with "yup." Don't make it rhyme- that's probably what killed the flow and flow is far more important than rhyme.

Your subject choice is amusing and the things you said were quite funny and of course stand true for the procrastinating person, however, you didn't communicate it as well as I am sure you are capable.

    beginning: 1, ending: 1.
