Sleep for the Sleepless

There are sometimes I wonder if it's worth the wait.  I wonder if this contract is meant to go through, shouldn't the bill be successfully voted into the house without any hindrance?1

But this single voice is only one of many in this great nation.  Since there are many views and agendas and some conveniently agreeing and many others disagreeing, what we have to alleviate the tension is the system.  Is the system perfect?  Certainly not, but that's what we have now and it works good enough to suit our purposes despite years of trying to accomplish this bill.2

You have to push your way to the top.  There's a struggle every moment as you try to pass the ranks and though you have a communion of people who represent the people, they are richer than the people.  They are paid to impress the people and to look after them and the real question is not whether they are a good impressionist, but if they have the best platform.3

It is the interests of the people that matter, not the rhetoric. . .  But anyone can forget that if a speech is fancy enough and pumped full of empathy and satisfaction for the listener - i.e. they hear what they want to hear, then that is the favoured vote.4

And just how is this accomplished?  Well, it takes a well tuned robot to represent the people.  They know how rich you are, but for a time they forget it. . .  If you make yourself a people person. . .  And they don't know how much sleep you really get, but then again, if you do get a good night's sleep it's probably because you lost the election, the fight, the cause and the bill.5
