Untitled (Drake)

“Fuck I hate this.” Drake thought as he tried to tune out the increasing loud argument between Chloe and her mom.

“Chloe you are not going out to that club!” Chloe’s mom told her sternly. “I have heard a lot of bad things that happen at that place before and I don’t want to go there.”

“Frig mom it’s not a club!” Chloe shouted, “Clubs are for people who want to listen to retarded fucking hip-hop! This is a show that our friends put together. And the only reason that you don’t want me go is because I’m going with Drake!”

“First of all I never want to hear you use that kind of language again, second you know that I don’t mind you going places with Drake.”

“That’s bull shit! You’ve never liked Drake, and you’ve never giving him a chance to show you what’s beyond the piercings and way he acts! I am going to this show whether you want me to or not, so just do me a big favor and stay the hell out of my life!” Before her mom could stop her Chloe swung open the front door and headed straight towards Drake. When Chloe reached him she gave him a hug and the couple started the walk towards the park where a small ‘battle of the bands’ was going on.

“Hey if you want we can just ditch the show and go somewhere else, if you want to talk.” Drake said to Chloe.

“No its fine lets just go to the show.”

Drake didn’t think that Chloe was ok but he let it go at that. This wasn’t the first time that Chloe had argued with her mom about Drake. It seemed that every time Drake went to see her that Chloe and her parents would start to fight. Drake didn’t care what Chloe’s parents thought of him but it did upset him that he was the cause of Chloe having to fight so much. The two talked for a while bout what is new in their lives, how their friends are, and what’s new in the music scene. After a short walk they reached a small community park. The park was a spacious area filled with trees, and playground equipment. The park had a small band shell where people were setting up their instruments, as a crowd stated to sit down on the grass in front. Drake looked around, Bellville had tons of parks like this, and once the sun set they all became popular teen hangouts. Drake and Chloe picked a spot on a hill that over looked the band shell. Drake glanced over at Chloe. It was a clear night and in the moon gave off enough light for Drake to see Chloe perfectly. She had dyed black hair, and green with a hint of blue eyes. She was shorter then Drake but not by much. Chloe caught Drake looking at her and he turned away embarrassed.

“Do you think that the show will be any good?” Chloe asked him. Drake shrugged in return.

“I don’t know, Paul says that Feet up is pretty good, but the other acts are just ok.” Paul was one of Drakes friends. He and a few other people had put together this battle of the bands. Legally they weren’t supposed to use the band shell but the local Police department didn’t care as long as no one complained. Which was very unlikely seeing as the band shell was so deep in the parks interior that the houses outside of the park wouldn’t be able to hear the music that was being played. The First act came on and they played a couple of songs. They were ok a little to heavy on the vocals for Drake’s taste but he didn’t mind them too much. He and Chloe watched the stage from their little spot on the hill. They were separated by a gap of grass from the rest of the audience who was right up in front of the stage. Drake looked over again at Chloe. She was looking at the band as the finished their last song and she cheered along with everyone else when they stopped playing. He and Chloe had been going out for two months and he loved it. Drake had never met a girl like Chloe before; she was smart, funny, extremely beautiful, and seemed to understand Drake so well. Drake had actually met her when, him and a few of his friends (who were totally wasted) decided to film a mid-night skateboarding video. Drake was the cameraman seeing as how he was the only one who wasn’t drunk. (Drake doesn’t drink) They were filming this video when they had run into Chloe and a few of her friends as they were walking through the city. One thing that is great about Bellville (a city with a population of about 52000) is that there are so many things to do when the midnight air is out, all one has to do is make sure they are with a group of friends in case you might get mugged. While they were shooting this video they came across the girls, and Pat, one of Drakes friends had the great idea to show off for the girls on his deck. He tried an ollie failed and landed on the side of his foot, breaking his ankle. Chloe and her friends; Meghan, and Suzie helped Drake and his friend Curt, take Pat to the hospital. Chloe had called an ambulance on her cell phone, and since they weren’t allowed to ride up there with the ambulance she also called a cab. The entire ride up there they talked getting to know each other. After two weeks of hanging out and many phone calls the two stated to date. Pat often joked that if hadn’t been wasted and broken his ankle then Drake and Chloe would never had started to go out. They had been dating for over to months now and things were going great, asides the arguments that she had with her parents.

“Hey Drake!” Hearing his named called brought Drake out of the past. Drake turned around and saw his friend Curtis walking towards him. Curtis was shorter then Drake by a few inches which placed him at 5’6. Curt had brown hair, which he wore short, and small wire rimmed glasses.

“Hi Curt what’s up?”

“Meh nothing really, I just wanted to know if you’re going to the after party.” Curt replied

“Ummm I don’t know.” Drake turned to Chloe “What time do you have to be home by?”

“11’s my curfew”

“The party starts at 11:30” Curt said

“Ok I’ll be there after I walk Chloe back to her place” Drake replied

“Sounds great I’ll see you then” With that Curt walked away. Drake looked back towards the stage where the second act was setting up. The show continued on until about a quarter to eleven. After the show Drake walked Chloe back to her house, once they reached it she turned to Drake and pulled him close.

“I’m sorry you can’t walk me to the door.” Chloe said, “My parents…” she trailed off.

“Ya I get I’m a freak.” Drake answered with a smile. They pulled apart form each other with a quick kiss and Drake watched her walk into her house. He then turned his attention to the party. He walked back to the band shell and heard laughter coming form it. When he walked up to it he saw a group of teens, some he knew some he didn’t all drinking and laughing.

“Hey it’s Mr. Lovebird himself!” Drake saw Curt perched on the edge of the stage with a beer in one hand and a can of spray-paint in the other.

“What’s up?” Drake asked as he walked next to Curt.

“Oh not much.” He replied “You know, getting wasted. The potheads already left so I’ve got nothing to do.” Curt added with a smile. Curt wasn’t a druggie but every once and a while he smoked some pot.

“What’s with the spray paint?”

“Meh” Curt shrugged. “One of the bands brought to write a little message in the shell but they forgot all about it. Wanna have some fun?”

“What do you have in mind?”

“Oh I don’t know what ever we fancy.”

“Well let’s go.” Drake and Curt walked out of the park’s main clearing and headed into the woodland trails. They walked until they started seeing a bunch of trees with red paint of them.

“I wonder what’s with the paint.” Curt said.

“I think that they’re cutting these ones down. I read something about some homes being put up here.”

“Ya you’re right I can see the machinery. Well this looks like good enough a target for me.”

“What? You’re an environmentalist now?” Drake asked. Curt had once thrown a package of lined paper in the garbage because the recycling bin was “to far”.

“I’m not environmental. I’m a vandal. Curt said as he started to spray-paint a message onto a bulldozer. The two took turns writing various messages from be yourself, to energy drinks kill. When they were finished Drake looked at his watch.

“Shit it’s one-thirty. I told my Dad that I’d be home an hour ago.”

“It’s one-thirty. My Mom told me that if I was out past curfew one more time then she wasn’t going to let me in till the next morning. I now it’s kinda inviting yourself over but can I crash at your place tonight?”

“Ya no problem lets go.”

They eventually got to Drake’s home half an hour later. The two crept around Drake’s house to the back door. Drake opened the door and got about two steps down the hallway before a light turned on and his Dad was standing there.

“Morning Drake.”

I liked this a lot. Very good. A few grammatical errors, but can't think of where they are right now. Other than that this was a very good story. I really enjoyed reading this. Wonderfully done. Keep on writing. God Bless!
