The Legend Of Liquid Light (Introduction)

As the thunder rumbled, the moon peeked just above

the darkened clouds. The light of the full moon

glistened on the sharp blades of the ninja’s Sai. Its

uniform which it adorned concealed all facial

expression except for the eyes, which too were barley

seen. The clothing was like a second skin, which

helped the ninja’s small but powerful frame to move

swiftly on the blades of grass. Suddenly, it paused

sharply, keeping its stance.

This was supposed to be a simple mission. The orders

were to retrieve an ancient book from the Japan

museum. Get in and get out.

In spite of that fact, fragments of this mission

seemed a bit too simple. Although the book was safe

on the ninja’s person, there were no guards to

protect it, no defense mechanisms - nothing. Now

where’s the fun in that?

The ninja’s muscles tensed from a chill, indicating a

presence was close. Then it happened, the clouds

unzipped themselves and water gushed on the earth. The ninja’s back was still exposed to the unknown

presence, but from then onward, all actions seemed to

slow down into second. A spiteful “whooshing” sound

came to lie as from behind, like steel cutting air.

The ninja automatically spun around in time to clasp

the blade between its palms as the sai dropped to its

feet and skidded away. A cold voice seethed from

inside the shadowed form.

“Do you surrender sir?”

The ninja then danced in the moonlight as to get a

better look at its attacker. A man about 5”9, blue

hair and blue green eyes was quite attractive looking

for a muscular built man. He held a very strong

stance and the blade which was still being held in

the ninja’s palms, became like butter and began to

slip.

“Well?-” asked the attacker.

“Do you surrender? Or should we play?”

The ninja smiled with its eyes as it felt the blade

slide through its fingers. A split second later, the

attacker was bringing back down the blade in a chop

motion towards the ninja’s neck and left himself wide

open for an attack. The ninja then dogged the blade

and sweep kicked his two ankles, but unfortunately,

the attacker was too agile and he somersaulted away.

In doing so, the attacker was able to slash the back

of the ninja’s mask, causing a small tear in the back

of the ninja’s mask whilst keeping the front of the

mask in tact.

The ninja’s long white hair spilled out and hugged

its body to the waist. It then somersaulted across

the mud and picked up the sai on the ground. The

attacker ran after it and trusted the blade to stab

the ninja in the abdomen. That attack did not work,

for the ninja gracefully perched itself onto the

blade, unfortunately however, the attacker did make

contact with the uniform and the chest area of the

ninja’s uniform was slashed like claw marks and the

attacker was greeted with a pair of heaving bosoms.

“My God! – a woman??!!”

The attacker seemed to be in a state of shock.

The ninja took a chance. She took her sai and

slashed him on the either arms, jumped off the blade

and began to make a run for it, through the soggy

field. She found herself being reunited with a

familiar smell. She stopped, closed her eyes and

tried to listen – the ocean!

If she could just make it to the beach, she would be

able to make her escape. The ninja started to make a

fresh break for it, but her feet were anchored from a

warning shot, close by her heels.

“Don’t move!” shouted a voice

There was a guard on her left and on her right. They

both aimed a thirty-eight at her chest. The one on

the right was ten years younger than the other and

the left guard seemed more experienced, as if he was

caught in this sort of situation before. He had a

tall husky stature and held the piece with confidence

and accuracy. The younger looked like a scared

rabbit and hands shook violently, like a leaf on a

tree. The ninja slowly approached the “rabbit”,

taunting him with a steady gaze of her eyes.

“Stop it!” the guard whined.

It took everything inside the ninja to keep from

snickering. This man was quite pathetic. She then

faked one step forward and whispered loudly – “Boo!”

The poor man hollered, dropped the gun and ran like a

lunatic through the jasmine fields.

“Vincent! Come back!” shouted the second guard, but

poor Vinne was probably halfway to India by now. The

ninja then tried to make a move.

“Don’t even breathe...”

As the guard studied his intruder, the moon peeked

again from behind the clouds and it shone brightly on

her long white hair flowing down her back and a few

strands on the front of her uniform which was ripped

slightly to subtlety expose some of her bosoms.

“A woman? We’re doing all this for a woman??!”

“Good work Donovan -” Said a voice a recently

familiar voice behind her.

The ninja knew it was her opponent from only moments

ago. He seemed a little bit out of breath.

“Damn – y-you’re – fast -”

He hunched over a bit to catch his breath. The ninja

then took this opportunity to look for a way out of

this mess. There was no way she could make it to the

beach now, more guards maybe coming, that was if

Mr. “Rabbit” grew a spine. She then peered ahead and

about five feet from her laid a cliff. She didn’t

know how high up she was, neither if she would hit

solid pavement. Unfortunately, that was her only

means of escape. Now finally as her friendly

attacker caught his breath and stood at attention he

approached her with only two steps.

“Com’on lady, would you just gimmie back what belongs

to me?”

The ninja gave out a small chuckle and slowly shook

her head. She slowly turned around to face him and

in doing so she saw her previous enemy still armed

with his sword, ready in fighting stance. All of his

muscles were tight with anticipation. As if on cue,

the moon went back in behind the clouds, the grounds

were dark and mysterious once more. That is when she

made her move and somersaulted straight to the edge

of the cliff. She paused as she heard Donovan

shrieking –

“Where – where is she?! Where’d she go?!”

He was aiming frantically around at any shadow that

moved. As the swordsman looked up, the moon shone

again, just enough to see her standing on the edge of

the cliff. His arms stung where she had cut him but

the wound was not as deep as he thought but even of

they had been he would still fight on. He pointed

his sword at her,

“Surrender! There’s no where for you to go!”

The ninja looked back over her shoulder, it was a

twenty foot drop and it was intimidating. The water

was extremely dark to the point that it looked black

and boulders peeked up from the blanket of choppy

water however, she showed no fear.
A flash of lightning illuminated the sky and she

looked at her attacker over so seductively, blew a

kiss and leaned slowly backwards into oblivion.

“No!” screamed Donovan, as she aimed for the clear

spot between the boulders. She felt an electrifying

shock of water as she entered it. The swordsman

looked over at Donovan who was still in shock.

“Huh -” the swordsman sounded impressed as he

replaced his sword in its sheath.

“Minimal splash… Do you she made it Donovan?”

There was still no response from Donovan but as the

swordsman walked away, he began to muttering to

himself... “So hard to find good help these days...”
