Through the star speckled night she flew, trying to take in all of this world below her. The concept of the lands of Musicana, the moon connected to Earth by music, still facinated her. Everything seemed to have popped out of a story book.
Creatures she only had imagined before now lay as specks beneath her pale blue spark'ling wings. They painted the land with rich colours-colours that had never reached the paintbrush of Vitäelia before.
She reached a manicured finger down to the velvet ground below, letting the wind whip at her. It played with her honey auburn hair, whipping it against her yellowed peach skin. She had grown from her human ways, carrying with her a matured appearance. Her long elegant elven eyes, glistening like two split emeralds, shone in the moonlight. Like most of her race, she wore a knee length silken gown, adorned with umber ribbons and leather. The dim light danced off her skirt. Everything about this night made her radiant, really.
A strong wind lashed against her, taking the breath from her lungs. She felt the adrennalin rush, the one she always craved for whenever she came to musicana. A smile pursed on her pinkened lips. No matter what anyone else may have thoguht, Haruka loved the lands of Musicana.
But still, the burdens of reality came to mind again. As an heir to the ruling household of Musicana, she had to protect these music filled lands with her life, a duty she was unsure of.
ON her fingertips rested power over life. Such a responsibility pulled at her heart. Even the slightest mistouch could make a flower wilt in a moment's time. She often thoguht she had been cursed with Mitas' touch.
Standing to fight against those who wished to make the land silent, her knees trembled. She had never been one to stand and fight. But now, the burden lay on her shoulders, and she had no choice. "You are the only one who can make the land sing once againn," she had been told countless times. Her voice didn't seem strong enough to her own ears, but she hoped that her music could bring back the song to Musicana-
"Vitäelia!" A voice burst out from behind her, making her thoughts come to an instant halt. She spun her head around to see her friend, Hoshyé.
Hoshyé's hair whipped the back of her neck, blending into the night sky. Her eyes met Vitäelia's, noticing something different in her friend.
"Is something troubling you?" she asked, a bit concerned.
"I'll be alright-" Vitäelia began, though her voice never hid a lie well.
Her friend sighed, gliding ahead. "Why do you even bother with lies? You can't even pull them off,"
"I-" she began hesitatntly, then decided that she could confide in her friend. "Our duty-as the heirs-do you think we can truly ever bring back Eden's voice?"
Hoshyé's crimson eyes watched ehr friend questioningly for a moment, then realising the girl meant it sincerely, replied, "Of course we will! The Lord will never give us more than we can handle-"
"But," Vitäelia interrupted hastily. "You-can't help but think about it, can you Hoshyé?"
The question stung the two, causing silence to flow over them. The other worldly chirp of cricket-like creatures haunted the air between them.
"This-is what we were given. That's all that we can say," But on a lighter note, Hoshyé smiled. "The music will come back to these lands-see?" she looked down towards the darkening ground, where the chirping came from.
There was always something here that could give them hope. Even if they fought through pain, the melody of Musicana would find them. That was all that the young faerie had to remember. Such a thought brought a smile over Vitäelia's lips.

I think you did a good job describing Haruka here, it lets us see as much of her personality as can be shown in this short of a piece. I liked it...can't get enough of your writing!

Lovely beginning. A great introduction for Haruka. It was clean and concise, leaving enough room for the imagination to take over a bit with her surroundings. You really did a wonderful job with the piece.
The way you portrayed Haruka, she appears to be a gentle, mild person on a usual basis who would rather talk than fight. But if she absolutely has to fight, she will; and that in turn makes her a strong individual. So yes, I'd say you did a nice job with a short peice. ^__^
There were a few spelling and punctuation things, but they were easily overlooked since there were very, very few. And it was a short piece, so the reader doesn't get to see all of Haruka's personality, but that's ok. There is most likely more to the story, and the way this piece is ended leaves room for her further growth and development, which is very good.
Wonderful job and good luck -
