A Mad Man's Journal (6th Entry)

July 8th, 21541

I have yet to find any books written in English on this base. I’ve checked pretty much everywhere. Ok, maybe not everywhere, but in the places that I’m aloud to go.  It figures that English is a universal language and no one writes in it anymore. 2

I have talked to more people. No one has given me a name. I would ask but they may consider that rude or may find it weird.  I will ask about names when I arrive on Second Earth.3

I will be shipped out within the hour. I was told to pack. I laughed hysterically for about 5 min before I realized no one but me understood why I was laughing. So, I explained the situation and they seemed to understand. They didn’t laugh of course. (I guess the idea of a guy from the past with no belongings isn’t as funny as it sounds.)4

It may be my imagination but I have yet to see a woman. Everyone I’ve talked to so far has been a man. I asked if there were women aloud in here or on this base and was ignored. Do they even have women anymore? I hope so, that would just suck completely if they didn’t. 5

I was also told that it would take approximately 4 hours to enter Second Earths atmosphere, and that it would take another hour to land safely on an air force base. I was in luck; Second Earth is supposed to be very similar to First Earth. The location of land masses aren’t at all the same. And the Second Earth’s surface is only 50% water. 6

I have my kitten waiting here with me at the shuttles bay. The shuttle is docking with the station now. I have to say it looks really cool from where I’m sitting. The windows reach from the floor to the ceiling, and you can see how bright Second Earth is from here. It’s like a giant Bluish brown moon suspended in darkness. It is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in my life. I can’t wait to reach the surface and see what this new world has to offer. I’ll write more when I land if I’m not too tired.7
