Carranee and the masked wizard-Chapter 4

“Um…do you want to go get stuff with me?” Blakeston asked as redness came into his face again.

“hold on let me ask my parents,” she replied.

“mom can I go get my school supplies with him?” she asked pointing to Blakeston.

Suddenly everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at her in fright. They all had shocked looks on there faces, as if she had said a bad word or something. A glass vase shattered to the floor and a kid who was holding an ice cream cone dropped it so that it fell down his robe.

“Don’t you teach your kids not to scare people like that?” one old woman in a turban asked snottily.

“Gosh scare us why don’t cha!” replied another.

“What did I say wrong?” Carranee asked in bewilderment.

Suddenly Blakeston grabbed her arm and pulled her away from the angry mob and to his side. He then began whispering into her ear. “HIM is a dark and evil wizard that used to rule over this world until to kids….twins I think stopped him.” he explained. “The funny thing is though that nobody knows who these kids are but two people….HIM and Professor Caselbolt.”

“oh.” Carranee replied as she suddenly felt embarrassed.

“Come on Carranee we have to get your school supplies!” Her mom shouted over the crowd of angry people who were now returning to what they were doing.

“Well, maybe I can meet you over at the coffee parlor later?” she asked Blakeston hoping he would say yes.

“um….I……ok sure why not,” he replied smiling.

“does eight sound good?” she asked him.

“sure.”

“ok well then I’ll see you later,” she replied over her shoulder as she ran back to where her parents stood.
