Emerald eyes
glowed faintly in the mist of twilight
Large ruby wings spread out
to meet the coming of the night
He would again await the darkness of sleep
the quiet of peace
Irridecent scales shimmered
in the moonlight
Talons of gold glittered dangerously
He was a sight to behold
the last of his kind
So stately and regal
So full of magic and awe
He sat in his cave
darkness surrounding him
No light came in
except the occasional glow of his own breath
Everything had changed
The world had evolved
into something different
The time of the dragons was over
finished
One dragon was all that remained
and his time drew near
He was a glorious creature
that the world would only remember as legend and myth
Never again would he fly through the skies
Never again would the world set eyes on this magnificent
dragon

WOW!! This is amazing. I love it. The imagery was great...the verse...the flow...the natural rhyming...the vocabulary. Fabulous!

I'm like going crazy for this poem . This is a wonderful poem that I really like because you remembered to include loads of descriptive...detail! Haha. And you also remembered how to pull the reader into your story. Great job with that and I hope you will continue to write and inspire others to write as well. I know you've inspired me. Great job again and message me if you need anything. ~ZeroKiryu. Large comment maker.
