Wonders

When the end of the world strikes it's dark and swampy. Evil creatures rule the earth. And people are very rare to find. For many people could not stand it when the world ended. So they left. Without a trace. Some theries are that the animals ate them. Some think that they just disapeared. That mother nature called them back. Or even something turned THEM into the animals. But who really knows?

"I told you to get me a bucket of water! Not this dirt!" yelled a humoungus man that was standing in the doorway of the Dirty Dog Inn. A boy stood with a bucket of water before him. The water in the bucket was a little dirty but it was not just mud! The boy ran back to the stream to get more water not daring to get in an argument with his boss.

His name was Karen. He was born in Marien, a port, and lived there all of his fourteen year old life. He had no family so he earned his own food. And he did not get much money as he worked in the Dirty Dog Inn wich was a very old inn were many sailors come when they come to the island for trading. And his boss was not the one to give a way money.

Karen dipped the bucket into the freezing water. While he filled the bucket he looked at the distant hills. How he wished to go there and explore the distant lands. travelers that came to the inn told stories about their travels in the distant lands. They talked about mightyn kings who battled werewolves. they talked about Ice Trolls and River Trolls, Vampires and Werewolves, and of course they talked about the mighty leopeards of the north that talked and helped in war! Oh how he wished he could see all these things.

Karen picked up the bucket of water and looked at the water. It wasnt very dirty. Just clean enough for washing. He walked back to the inn with the heavy bucket of water. The water was for a man. He came to the inn just a couple of days ago on a boat. The boat looked like it was made of the purest gold. It had sails made of the finest cloth and the deck was made of the most finest wood ever. But thye outlining was the best part of all. For it had long lines of gold and silver running down and up.

Many people gathered at the shore and looked as the ship stopped by the Port. A draw-bridge was lowered and many sailors came out. A woman in the crowd was amazed at how many people came out of the boat. Almost one-hundred men came out on the old wooden planks of the port. And when all of the sailors came out they carried all sorts of things. Chests, bags, and many other things that carried somthing in it.

And when all of the sailors got out a man walked the drawbridge. He wore magnifecnt clothes. They all looked very rich. His hair was put back into a pony-tail and he walked over to the sailors and said somthing.

Then he walked to the inn and asked the boss if he could stay at the inn for a night or two. He gave the boss a big brown bag that was clinking with gold. The boss snathced it quicly and asked if he needed room for ALL of his sailors. He omnly said that he would need room for about ten of them and then asked for some water to be brought from the river behind the inn to wsh his face with. An that is how Karen had to go get water.

"That's better water! Now I don't have time to go up to his room to bring the water so you will go give it to him. And don't messthis up boy or no pay for you today!" the boss yelled at Karen. Karen walked up the old wooden steps that led to the rooms were the guests slept.

Karen knoked on the hard wooden door of the man's room. When no one answered he opened the door and came in. But the stange man was in the room. He was at a desk. The candle he was using for light was dripping with wax and it would stop burining soon. Karen grabbed a new candle from him apron and quicly switched the candles. The man looked at him.

"You are very fast!" he said with an acsent.

"Thank you sir." Karen answered.

"How would you like to be my personel helper?"

"Really? Ya! Sure!"

"Would anyone mind?"

"No, not really. Boss doesn't really care for me. He could find another boy to fill my spot in a jiffy!"

The next day was the day the an would leave. His name was Sir William of Petersburg. And with his leave Karen would come! They would explore the whole world! This was the beggining of a new life and the end of the old one!
