Easter Poem

When I die, it will be Easter time.

The sky will be a cloudless, open dome

Magnolia will blossom in the park

With daffodils that mutely call, "Come home!"

I'll leap into the water to see Jesus,

And I'll smell breakfast cooking on the shore

And I'll hear shouting, crying, laughing, singing

And Aslan's roar.

Author notes

The contest said either a happy or a sad poem. Maybe I've cheated, since this one is both! Confusing references to water, Jesus and breakfast are taken from a Bible story which I'll tell you if you don't recognise it.
