“There once was a town called Loran,
And there lived a woman called Dian”
Rachel looked up. “How many errors?”
“Nada,” Katherine replied. “Go on,”
“Each day her daughters would fight,
Each fightl lasting ’til past midnight”
“How ’bout now?”
Katherine looked up from her notepad. “How did you spell ‘daughters’?”
“Capital D-a-u-g-h-t-e-r-s”
“OK. Please continue,”
“And the younger one won,
Because she was the best,
And always passed her spelling tests”
Katherine burst out laughing. “You wish!”
Rachel scowled and threw a pencil at her sister.
“But everyday they would tell their mom ‘We love you!’ but
The older one would say ‘even though you are old and gray!’
And the younger one would reply ‘Shut up! That’s not nice!’”
Katherine threw two more pencils back at Rachel. “I never said that!”
“Oh yes you did! It’s my poem so I can make you say whatever I want you to!”
“Well, what about dad? Is he in the poem at all?”
Rachel snorted. “Apish, no! You don’t see him writing it, do you?”
Author notes
Just a story about my sister writing a poem for mothers day. You probably won't understand some of our 'family humour' but I hope you enjoy it all the same!
Please tell me what you think

haha. That was cute and good! This was a nice poem and I liked the part, "It`s my poem and I can make you say whatever I want you to!" That cracked me up.
Nice job.

Perhaps, I won't know some of your "family humour" - because it's your private thinge with your family
but I related so much with the poem since my sister and I fight sometimes too, and some of our verbal battles would last until midnight, with our mom trying to keep us off each other's necks
but yeah, we laugh about that afterwards ^_^
I'm sure your mother enjoyed this poem
Thanks so much for sharing it with us
Welcome to StoryWrite ^_^
P.S. The younger one is the best, indeed
