Day at the Shop

So, let me explain. Kay, you know that ghetto Filipino hair dresser up in Waipahu? You know the one, ah? Get the pink ceiling and they always eating pancit and stay phlegm all over the sidewalks outside, like someone went trow up all over the place? Anyway, I went there yesterday fo get ready for prom, yeah? And I was like "I want to look gooood. Like, you know, Britney Spears good." And she was like "Sure, sure. I make you one asian Cinderella. You gon have one metamorphoses" And I was like "Whatever." Yeah? Cause, I mean she should know what to do, right? She's the hair stylist. So I'm sitting there, letting her wash my hair and stuff and I can see out the window and I'm watching people walking by, going onto the streets to avoid the nasty stuff all over the sidewalk and all of a sudden, one idiot skydiver came falling out of nowhere yeah, and he went hit my car! So I ran out of the shop and the man stay unconscious on the hood of my Camaro and the lady who was cutting my hair is yelling at me cause I never went pay, yeah, but I'm more worried about my car because the guy is like, bleeding all over the paint job I just got done yeah and when he finally wakes up, I'm like "Eh you! Why'd you bang into my car for, huh? What, the street wasn't big enough for you? You better pay for this you know, that's gonna cost" I looked at my ruined $300 paint job "That's gonna cost you 3000 dollars. This is one expensive car you know! You're responsible. Eh? You listening?" But at that point, he's looking at me like I'm the crazy chick who came flying out of the sky, yeah? And THAT'S when I see in my car window, that crazy Filipino lady went shave my head! How was I supposed to know that Britney Spears was bald? It was all her fault! And that's how I ended up going bolohead to prom.

The End

Author notes

I wrote this as part of a competition at school. We were supposed to make up a story using certain words... The 10 vocab words in here are:
Idiot
Metamorphosis
skydiving/skydiver
ghetto
pink
ceiling
pancit
responsible
phlegm
hair stylist

I wrote it in pidgin, which is kind of like slang here. So yeah, the grammar might be horrible, but that's how it's supposed to be XP I hope you all like it ^^

    Ah! That is Precious!

Having lived some long years in the Islands, even over on the dry side, where I got to know all kinds of different cultures, this brought back old, fine memories of pidgin talk and the emotions of people unlike me.

    Wonderful!

Surprisingly (surprisingly because I'm anal about English), I really like this piece.

It has culture; it has character.

My one beef is that it all really runs together. I would agree with simplyirresistable that it really needs to be broken up into paragraphs. I think that this would not only make it easier to read, but it would also make the funny parts more impactful.

Thanks so much for entering, and good luck!

Haha! It's actually funny! I didn't know you also knew pancit! And sadly.. a lot of Filipinos DO that phlegm thing x.x did you win the competition? I didn't catch much of the pidgin, so I'm wondering if you translated it or I could understand pidgin

Haha, though, it would be easier to read if it was broken up into parts but no worries, still funny! go baldies!!!!!!!!
Thanks for sharing this with us!
