On the planet Kendaria, there are many races, but we will begin with the most important and most influential of them all. The setujin race is the main and most populated group on the planet. They take up most of the world's surface and built massive kingdoms and towns and were also the most well connected race of their world. they established glorious trade routes which were the heart and lungs of their society. they were also the first to harnass Lutra, the ability to manipulate elemental and psychic magick. 1
the setujin people are very mystical, laid back and happy. They are a very well connected group that care for all living things. most of them are either farmers, fishermen, ship captains, swordsmen, or wandering travellers. They are known for their fine and exotic catches of fish which they trade with neighboring races, and for their weapons and armor. The main continent on which they live is called Decfonia. it is the largest and most important continent on the planet. it harbors lush vegetation and all sorts of creatures.2
When the world contained only one whole continent, Megaera, there was mostly peace and calm throughout the races that existed. Those that were there were the Bliseth race, the Setujin, and the Tugomai, a gathering of small tribes that later became the people of Erom. These three races lived alongside one another for a long time, building great cities and kingdoms in shared lands with no hostility. They needed each other, in a way; the setujin were hunters and gathered some of the rarest and most tasteful meats and fruits, bliseth people were miners and dug up expensive stones they used for jewelery and for trade, and the Tugomai forged light but effective weaponry that they distributed among the soldiers of every race. There was harmony for many decades, a time that was known as the Years of Reverie. 3
But a series of events caused the reverie to suddenly revert to reality; events that tore the nations apart, as well as the entire world.4
first was the birth of Lutra. It seems that Lutra was acquired by the setujin people, and other races were not able to harnass its energy. many of the setujin began to make fire by will, or water geysers, tornadoes, earthquakes, etc. some of them could begin to read each other's minds or make things float by thinking about it. this drove fear into the other races, a fear that became envy and soon after, anger. the setujin people began to feel cocky about their new ability, and began to believe that they were better than the other races. the Tugomai, being master forgers, quickly began to plan out new weapons that they would use in a strike against the setujin. the races could no longer stand the new attitude of their setujin kin.5
the bliseth people allied themselves with the Tugomai nation and prepared for a battle. the bliseth miners dug up tough gemstones and fused the rocks into thick jewelled armorplates and gave some of them to the Tugomai to make excellent jewel bladed swords. once they were finished, they set out in massive groups to the gates of setujin cities, including the mighty kingdom of Elm. 6
what ensued was what we know of as the Light War. It was a time of madness and anger, egos that rolled off tongues and slapped rivals square in the face. everyone hated everyone, and war spread throughout the massive continent like a plague. there was nowhere for anyone to run or hide, for they were all together in one body; all that they could do was turn and begin attacking.7
one day a bliseth warrior pillaged a setujin town with his fellow soldiers, knocking down the gates and setting fire to homes and peasants on the streets. many innocents were killed, and all but the one warrior survived of his group of companions. setujin mages surrounded him and forced him up a small hill. slowly they advanced on him, making his circle smaller and his patience thinner. at one point the warrior could no longer take the stress of being surrounded that way. He reached into his scabbard and pulled out something so dangerous that all the mages stopped dead in their tracks.8
what the man brandished within his locked fingers was a sword of extraordinary power. it not only had the power to kill someone, but it had a strange ability of altering time and space. if this sword killed someone, it would erase their entire history from the pages of time, changing events of the past and things in the future. that was if it was stuck into a person; the sword being stuck into the soil of Megaera could result in something so catastrophic that it could lead to the end of all living beings. observe the Sigra Blade.9
the warrior was pushed as far as he was able to go and stuck Sigra into the soil. Megaera screamed and groaned in an inconcieavble amount of pain and ripped apart, land tearing away from land and causing enormous waves to crash throughout the ocean and all over the lands. storms rattled the skies and hailed lightning rods and thunder, acid rain and deadly gasses that made the world go dark and appear dead. 10
the events that occurred as a result of the sigra blade sinking into the soil of megaera was what the people of Kendaria later called the ravaging moments. it was a time where races were split apart, and the lands were broken forming new continents, islands and other landmasses. a time where thousands of people, animals and other creatures died off, leaving the once united beings separated, shocked, depressed, and above all, terrified.11

this is indeed very interesting. very imaginative story, extremely creative. i am not usually a fan of science fiction but i really liked this story. well i'll read part two now... Jinx

...what is there to not like about the list at the top? all i'm doin is listing the names of the races. and hey dood, just so you know, when you read this, dont think of it as a story, cuz it isn't. its records, its data, its a story written in a different form. like bram stoker's dracula, written like journal entries, my stories of kendaria are the records of a man named Tedium who was an explorer, who ended up in the space around the planet Kendaria and was able to travel there and somehow sent his information through space and time, back to our earth. its all a big story, revolving around this guy's records of another planet. i felt that if it was written as though it was from human physical observation, it would immerse the reader more, and they would feel like they're really there. anyway peace.

cool. so... i'm hoping part 2 will focus more on one character, or a group of characters, anyway, that i can get to know... i enjoy your concept/setting a LOT, though the list at the beginning was not really my favorite.
anyway, rock on, and i hope part 2 lives up to part 1's standards.

Ok, I'm interested. Definitely not what I'd expect. On the one hand, it's seems to be less of a story, and more general background info. On the other hand, it has story elements, and I'm thoroughly intrigued. I'm off to read part two.

This is interesting, like watching a whole new world unfold before your eyes, I think they could make a sci fi series out of this, a brilliant basis for some wonderful interwovwen stories...................
take care

I like how you begin by describing the different races on this planet. It shows automatically that NO YOU ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT EARTH! I like this, because it really confuses me--personally--to read a story and out of the blue something happens and BANG "WAIT THIS ISN'T EARTH!" You do a good job with making sure that dosn't happen.
