Grace - Part II

Grace new it was wrong, but still Sandra's lips were very persuasive. Before she knew it Sandra was practically begging her to come upstairs.

"No one will notice, I promise." Sandra whispered. Then, like a shot, she was gone. Her presence mingled momentarily in the air mixed with her perfume, lilacs and lily of the valley.

Grace was caught, ensnared by this devious woman. She knew her way around quite well, and quickly made her way to the rear stairs. The house staff were all out serving guests, and no one saw her slip past the kitchen and up to the rear landing.

There sat Sandra, almost child like on the top stair. Waiting to have what she won fair and square.

"Follow me," was barely audible over the party noise rising from below. Grace followed. Curious and engaged.

She walked the hallway practically by memory, and questioned what her next step should be. She could not deny that Sandra had absolutely peaked her interest, and yet she felt the whole thing could be very wrong.

How would she ever explain this to Molly.

"Molly, last night I had sex with your mom." Somehow, Grace knew that would not be an easy conversation.

Sandra was not just any mom, though. She was Sandra Bennington, the grand daughter of a steel tycoon. She was the apex of Marligan Society. She was strong, powerful, and she was lasciviously scandalous. Pregnant at the age of 17. Two children. No husbands. Rumored love affairs with Hollywood's leading men. And within the lesbian circles, rumored to have lost the woman who was her one true love.

Her dappling in lesbianism had been hidden carefully by her parents and then later her siblings. Being the head of the Bennington household by the age of 32 had its advantages. People tended to overlook social misdoings when they wanted something out of you. And almost everyone in Marligan wanted something from Miss Sandra Bennington, heiress extraordinare.

Except, of course, for Grace. Grace was, quite possibly, the only person attending this evening's events for the sole purpose of having an enjoyable evening. All the other guests were there to hob-knob with socialites, make lucrative connections. Even Molly was there to close a deal with a large client.
