An Ode to Ronan

Ronan the bug killing warrior king was on his way home from his latest cockroach battle. He was driving past Klein's grocery store when he saw many frantic people running and screaming through the sliding doors. He pulled over and asked one woman running with her child in her arms what was going on. She screamed at him that gigantic ants had invaded the store and were attacking the customers. Ronan grabbed his bag full of equipment and ran inside, only to find that the ants had armed themselves with guns made of chocolate, and were firing hard candies and mints at the customers. Ronan ducked behind a corner to load his bug spraying device. When he came back around the corner into the candy isle, Ronan met the end of his bug killing days as he was shot in the forehead with a butterscotch flavored hard candy.

Author notes

One day in my English class, we did this exercise where the teacher gave us the location of the story and we wrote the rest. This was what I had come up with after about five minutes.

Very amusing. :-) It seems that this story might flow better in a longer form, though, with extra details, to pull out the full "drama" of the piece and make it even funnier.

I love your ending though: such a tragic end for our noble warrior! :-)

Try splitting this into paragraphs to make it easier to read.

Thanks for entering the contest, and good luck!
