"Why didnt you tell me?" She said as he went to kiss her.1

"What are you talking about dear?" He said innocently.2

"Dont act like a fool. Alexander why didnt you tell me you have to leave for war by tomorrow? You are going to be gone for five months. Did you just think I wouldnt notice? I know you got that letter at least months before."3

"Oh honey, I didnt open it until last night with the guys. Im sorry. I dont want to leave. But I have to. I was going to tell you this morning. Please forgive me." Right then he broke into tears and feel to Missy's lap. She couldnt be mad at him. Instead she stroked his hair and cryed along with him. The next morning she stayed with him until he left to leave for what would feel a lifetime. That night and the following nights she cryed until she thought she would have no tears left. Since Grandfather's House was so massive Missy invited Victoria to live there until Alexander came back. Victoria and Henry had two children since 4

the miscarriage and Victoria was pregnant with the third. Her children were little angels. Missy would read them bedtime storys of princesses finding their prince charming at balls and she would sing them lulleblys of true love. Their names were Matthew and Elizabeth. Little Matthew was only seven months old and sweet Elizabeth was just at her first year. During the five months alone Missy became closer to her family. She would let Robert and Richard spend the night in the house and she would take them to the theater to watch plays. Her and her older brother John would go fishing. John's wife Mary and her became good friends also. Missy would ride to the other city where he lived and they would take the 5

twins on picnics and fishing trips. Since going against her Mother's wishes and living with Alexander, Missy and her mom hadnt talken in a while. So one day Missy went to visit her and say sorry. Her Mother was very sick. She was getting really old and only three weeks later she passed away. When the five months were up Missy was filled with excitment. She couldnt wait to see Alexander. She couldnt wait to be in his arms again. She went to the place where she was to meet him. All the men greeted their families. Expect Alexander. He wasnt there at the gate smiling his smile she loved. He wasnt there to embrace her. He wasnt there. Missy went insane. She stayed around the area for a week sleeping in an inn. He didnt come that day, or the next, or the day after that. After two weeks of confusion she came to the conclusion he had died. She mourned for two years. She felt as if she was going to die. She wanted to die. She figured he would never come back. So she left Grandfather's House, Victoria and Victoria's new baby girl Helen and everyone else she 6

cared about and fled to the nearby small village. She just couldnt stand being there with all the painful reminders of her first and last real love. After five months in the new village she met a sheriff named Daniel.7
