Questions

Mr. Revest was looking straight at Rebbeca, his blue eyes boring a hole through her.

"So, how'd you get those bruises, Rebbeca?"

"I fell."

"Fell where?" he asked.

"On the ground." Rebbeca replied.

"Yes, yes, I know that.. but where? At school, home... etc."

"On the ground." she smirked.

Mr. Revest sighed. "What am I to do with you?" he asked.

Rebbeca just blew a bubble from the gum she was chewing.

"You're not supposed to have gum in school, Rebbeca. You know that." Mr. Revest said.

"Oops, I forgot." she said, and stuck it on the bottom of the blue chair she was sitting on.

Mr. Revest sighed again, this time longer. Rebbeca just played with her long, blonde hair.

Mr. Revest just noticed the blonde hair. "Where'd you get the blonde hair? Yesterday you had brown." he said, feeling this was a foolish question. Imagine saying that to your boss!

"I dyed it." Rebbeca replied, bluntly.

"You're saying.. you dyed your hair?" Mr. Revest said.

"Yeah, I was bored." Mr. Revest sighed, once again. "Am I going anywhere with you, Rebbeca?" he asked.

"Nope." she replied, and played with her dyed blonde hair again.

Mr. Revest was running out of questions that he never asked before.

"Do you have any pets?" he asked, thinking that this was a pointless question.

"No. Used to, but I got rid of it." Rebbeca replied.

"Got... rid of it? Mr. Revest closed his eyes.

"Yeah. It was a goldfish. Flushed it down the toilet since it didn't do anything." she said.

"Erm... was it... uh.. dead?" he asked, hoping the answer was 'yes'.

"No."

Mr. Revest swallowed. "Now it is." Rebbeca smirked. Mr. Revest decided to ignore her.

"Do you like laughter?" Mr. Revest asked.

"Why?" Rebbeca asked, alarmed.

"Why are you so shocked?" Mr. Revest asked, actually getting somewhere.

"It's... er... nothing." Rebbeca stammered.

"What is it?" Mr. Revest asked, itching to know.

"It's not a good reason." she answered, back to her normal state.

"Why?"

"I'm not telling." she smirked.

"Please?" he asked.

"Nope."

"Pretty-"

"Nope." she replied, cutting him off.

"If you don't answer my question, I'll call your parents." Mr. Revest threatened.

"Go ahead. They're not home. And is a guidence counsler supposed to threaten students?" she said, chewing another piece of gum that she got from her pocket.

"On special occasions. And get that piece of gum out of your mouth!" Mr. Revest sighed.

Rebbeca took it, and put it under Mr. Revest's desk.

Mr. Revest decided not to ask her about laughter again.

The bell rang and Rebbeca left. Mr. Revest's boss came in.

"Where'd you get the brown hair? Yesterday it was blonde." Mr. Revest asked.

His boss opened her mouth, but closed it and left. Mr. Revest smiled.
