"Dai?"1
"Yes, Misty?"2
"I'm going hunting. Watch the camp and keep the fire going."3
She nodded in the direction of the little blaze.4
"When will you be back?" Dairon asked her.5
Misty shrugged. "Dunno. Whenever I catch something, I guess."6
"Alright. Be careful,"7
"Since when have I not?" she grinned.8
"Since the day you were born!" Dai replied, laughing. "But seriously. Be careful. We can't have me stuck here, all by my lonesome, wondering where you are, now can we?"9
Misty shook her head and smiled. "I guess not,"10
She went over to the oak tree and picked up her bow. "I'll see you in a bit." She nodded farewell and walked deeper into the forest.11

Dairon sat next to the fire, staring into the flames, lost in thought.13
When the memory of a kiss he once gave Misty came into his mind, he shook his head, sighed and stood up to add more wood to the dying embers.14

A few hours later, he heard footsteps and looked up. Misty was back, stumbling slightly, a large deer slung across her shoulders.16
Dai leaped up from his seat at the fire immediately.17
"You shouldn't be carrying that all by yourself," he told her. "Let me help you."18
Misty gladly let him take the burden off her shoulders and then collapsed onto the ground in exhaustion.19
"Thank you," she said wearily.20
"You should've let me do the hunting." Dai admonished her as he knelt beside her. "It wears on you too much."21
Misty shook her head. "If I did that every time, how on earth would I be able to stay alive if you weren't here? I need to keep my hunting skills sharp."22
"Not at the cost of your health," He leaned down to kiss her forehead. "Get some rest. I'll cook the food."23
Misty lay back and didn't protest. In just a few minutes she was sound asleep.24
