A Dancing Fool

----You know one of those embarrassing stories where you think it is the end of the world? You look back, and ask how you could be that stupid in making those decisions. I have a story like that, and even though I look back at it laughing it wasn’t that funny at the time. I learn two valuable lessons though.

----This story starts back exactly a year ago, four weeks before prom. The characters to start this are my girlfriend and I. To keep the ID of everybody involved secure, I will label her as girlfriend one. So I had just asked girlfriend one out and the first day we are going out I grab her hand because that is what all couples do or so I thought. Right as I do

she says, “We are moving too fast”

I’m thinking in my head,

“Oh great this is going to be a short relationship.”

Sadly to say girlfriend one didn’t last long, she broke up with me six days later.

----It is almost to three weeks before prom and I figured that I’m probably not going, boy was I oh so wrong. Now my girlfriend before girlfriend one starts hitting on me, she will be labeled girlfriend two. We decided to go out again with three weeks left till prom. She wants to keep our relationship quiet for a while though because she had just broken up with her boyfriend the day before. One night she makes the comment of how she doesn’t like to dance. Being the guy that I am, I took it seriously. With two and half weeks left before prom girlfriend one (who I had stayed friends with) asked me to prom as friends. Taking in the fact that I’m keeping my relationship with girlfriend two quiet, and she apparently doesn’t like to dance, I say yes to girlfriend one request. One day till the two week mark before prom I tell girlfriend two my plans. Her answer is not shocking to me now, but at the time it was.

She says, “I’m not comfortable with you going to prom with another girl, I want to break up with you.”

Now I try fixing things; I do this by going back to girlfriend one and telling her that I have a girlfriend. Her reply is what every person would give in that situation.

“That’s fine; you have fun with your girlfriend at prom.”

This isn’t good enough with girlfriend two to go out with me again. So with one week before prom I have no date again.

----By this time I’m really stressed, nothing is going right. Girlfriend one has a sister who feels inclined to come and yell at me randomly one day. She sees me in the halls and just starts shouting about how I ditched her sister during one week before prom.

She says, “What the hell man, how dare you ditch my sister one week before prom.”

As stressed out as I am, I didn’t need this.

I screamed, “Stay out of my fucking business!”

Not very mature of me, she had just been an innocent bystander and unfortunately she got all my anger taken out on her. Plus I made her cry. I hadn’t ever done that, I felt horrible about it later. Six days before prom I am once again dateless, and really could care less by this point. My English teacher puts me into a group with a girl who was an awesome girl; who became my prom date and girlfriend three for 9 months.

Author notes

option 1, ---means that is a new paragraph since for some reason storywrite won't indent.

Kind of a cute story, and I liked it. It was a different style of writing, but that made it good. Good job!
