Drums Of War

I glanced over the field with my rifle and sighed.

I walked forward towards what I had thought was an enemy. I raised my rifle to eye-view. I aimed it carefully towards the target.
I released the trigger, only to see a spray of blood come from the object.
Another soldier stood up and shot the pistol in his grip. One of my 1

friendlies raised his rifle and picked off the enemy.
I then heard a loud rumbling. Then a whistle sound came from above. I lowered my body towards the ground. A loud explosion erupted.2

3

I took my helmet away from my head, finding myself on a desolace field. My friend raised his legs reaching only inches taller then my. His face was burned.4

5

I heard foreign language. I quickly turned my rifle, unready to spot the three soldiers trying to rip us apart with daggers.6

7

We each fired our weapons at the enemies. The soldiers fell to the ground quickly after a few shots of an M60.8

9

We examined the wounds. "Whoa, check it out, man. These guys right here, they be dead now."10

11

I chuckled a bit. We lowered our weapons.12

13

After the event in our life we walked almost three miles to our encampment.14

"Someone has set...that...uhh...you know-"15

"Weapons Cache."16

"Yeah, someone has set that thing on fire."17

18

I rushed towards the incident, only to find three wounds in my chest, and me laying on the ground.19

20

I hopped up holding up my jacket, looking at my wounds.21

22

"Enemy fire!" I screamed.23

24

Almost forty soldiers rushed to me trying to examine the location. 25

26

"All clear."27

28

I slowly made my way to medical station with the medics.29

30

I seen someone holding an AK-74 automatic rifle.31

32

I picked up my pistol and limped my way towards the shadowy guy.33

I found out later that that person had not been a guy, but a women. I raised my pistol towards her un-aware head and gripped the trigger.34

35

I released the trigger. Unaware I found out the weapon was unloaded 36

37

The women turned quickly and smacked my face with the end of the weapon. I felt my face and looked at my palm. "Blood?" I asked myself.38

39

The women aimed the weapon and shot me three times in the stomache. I fainted quickly for loss of blood and woke up in Michigan Hospital...I was back at home...40
