A Promise

Just leaving her last class to go to her dorm, Sarah was so excited for the semester’s annual formal dance. What made it even more excited was that the dance was the day before her 20th birthday. Sarah knew her boyfriend, Justin, was going to give her present that evening. She kept on bugging him for a month about what he’s giving her.

Sarah got to her dorm room, threw her stuff on her bed, and started her Government paper. Once she was done doing her homework, she went out of the room to get ready for the dance. Putting on her make-up, wearing her pink tank top, her favorite black capris, and her leather boots. For Sarah’s last night as a teenager, she looked gorgeous. Sarah’s friends, Marlena and Jannine, all took pictures of each other after they all got ready.

After pictures, Sarah got a call from Justin on her cell. She answers it and Justin said, “I’m outside. Come out whenever you’re ready.” Sarah being excited, she ran out of her room and went outside her dorm to see Justin in his suit, holding a pink corsage to match Sarah’s top, and his hand in his pocket. Sarah took her corsage and put it on her right wrist. Now, the thing that questioned Sarah, “What is Justin getting me for my birthday?”

Looking all over the place, even in Justin’s truck, Sarah couldn’t find her gift from Justin. It really started to annoy Sarah. She started to run all over the place, being excited and hyper for no reason. When Justin said that he was starting to head towards the hotel where the dance was, Sarah ran to Justin’s truck so he can unlock his door to let her in.

Justin and Sarah were on their way to the Mystic Marriot Hotel for the formal dance. While on the road, Justin took his hand out of his pocket and he gave her a box. “Here you go,” Justin said, “Happy Birthday.” Sarah opened the box, and came to another box, but it was a box where you put jewelry in. So Sarah opened the small black box, and came to a ring. Sarah’s jaw dropped open, shocked. “It’s a promise ring,” Justin said, “Almost to being engaged. I will never leave you for any other girl. I will be with you forever. I love you Sarah.”

Sarah wanted to speak, but words couldn’t come out of her mouth. Sarah wanted to cry, but she was too happy. Justin made a promise to Sarah that will make their love stronger than ever before. She gave Justin a kiss while he drove to the Mystic Marriot. When they got there, Sarah showed everyone her ring that Justin gave her.

Everyone says that Sarah and Justin make a cute couple. That is true.
