I looked up into the aquatic sky. A few fish swam over head. I watched as a few bubbles from their mouths rose to the lands above. I inhaled the salty water. My special lungs sorted out the oxygen from the rest, what happened to it - I wasn't exactly sure. I walked down the sandy bottom towards the only place that I was now welcome. My home.
I pushed open the door. The water was too still here. From the time we are born it is burned into our wee little minds to always have something, anything that will keep the water moving, inside our portable homes. It was a mechanism that had kept our kind safe and alive for many of years.
I slowly backed out of the door and closed it behind me. It was then that I heard it. It was the low pitched growl of a rabid clown fish. I was in for it now. The small little buggers were hard to shake off.
I swam as fast as I could away from my home in the leafy green substance. I could hear it as it's small fin swept back and forth propelling it forward towards it's prey; towards me.
I looked behind me and saw it far behind me. I knew it would still come after me, it would follow my scent. I picked up my speed and looked ahead at the nearing village. I wished I could pick up help there, but knew it was a no go. They all hated me. They hated me for my differences.
My thoughts had distracted me from my running away from the rabid beast. Before I knew it, it was on me; biting at my flesh and tearing small microscopic pieces off. I shook it off and tried to flee from the area but it was on me in less than a second.
I scrambled to get it off. But it was of no use. The small creature kept to me like a moth to a flame. "Leave me be!" I shouted at it. Like that would of helped anything. The smell of blood reached my nose. I looked down at the orange striped fish. It had somehow managed to get under my flesh.
Random thoughts flashed throughout my mind. What should I do? Scream? Try to take it out myself? Take my life before it took without my permission?
I was very near fainting when I heard it. The dun dunn sound that meant there was a larger predator around. I looked back a minute too late. Sharp teeth looked me directly in the face. It was the last thing I saw, but not the last thing I felt.
'Crunch Crunch Crunch' I couldn't exactly hear this, but I definitely could feel it. After what seemed like hours it finally stopped. I was safe inside it's stomach now, shredded into pieces by it's razor sharp teeth. That was the end of my short life.
