The rain tickled the grass planes as the clouds rolled in. The howl of the winds whispered softly to the creatures, forcing them to take shelter. 1

There was still one person out at night. She looked as if made of stone. Her pale complexion could be seen from far away, as well as her bright gray eyes. She wasn't considered a person, rather, a monster. 2

Her kind had always been hidden away, for safe keeping. They were almost extinct, for these 'monsters', were Vampires.3

The craving for blood caused much worry for the citizens, so they wiped out most of the population with a simple explosion. Normally, this wouldn't work against true Vampires, but most were either newborns, or half-bloods. 4

The young Vampire in the middle pasture was a full blood. People all over the villages have told stories about her dangerous form, inexplicable strength, and quick wits. She decided to show the villages just how correct they were.5

The rain caused mist, which covered the villages like blankets. She could still see them clearly, though. The middle village, known better as Buckling, displayed a midnight glow from the oil lamps, and simple fires inside homes. Outside, though, it was murky, and very dull.6

Era, the legendary Vamptress, walked closer to the small gathering, full of knowledge about each member as she got closer, and closer. 7

There was a small boy praying to the statue in the middle of Buckling. Era could see and hear, that he was praying for another. His sister was sick, and needed a painless way to heal. "Young one. They call you Jack, do they not?" The frightened boy glanced over his shoulder, his big, brown eyes full with fear. Era stared back at him, awaiting an answer. "Y-Yes ma'am," Jack finally responded. His gaze faltered, and then quickly rose to her right eye. Beneath that, was the mark of a superior.8

"Take me to your sister," she commanded, her voice strong, yet comforting in the same way, if possible. Jack got to his feet, bowing to Era before gesturing her in the Eastern direction.9

Era felt a strong, pure Ora as she entered Jack's home. She knew it was from the sick child, and wondered how she could of gotten ill. "Mother, Father! We have a guest!" Jack walked over to a bed, beside the fire. Two elderly people squinting in Era's direction. "Ah, Mistress Era!" THe woman scampered to her knees, bowing before the Vampire. "Get to your feet! I am not your queen," she hissed, gliding past the woman. 10

Jack had second thoughts about this superior. She seemed cruel, and heartless, but her looks deceived that greatly. "What is the child's name?" Jack broke from his thoughts when he heard silence. She was asking him.11

"Rose, ma'am!" Her gray eyes, like storm clouds, casted down to the pale girl, who was becoming less and less animated as she breathed. The other family members scooted back, and watched.12

Era raised her palm to the child's forehead, and then the other over her left breast, right on her heart. "Child of pure spirits, it is not your time. Sick you may be, but a curse is the real problem. Rose, I summon the darkness in your body, and bend it to my own will." It was completely silent for a few heartbeats, before an edgy scream erupted from the girl's chest. Era raised her palm calmly, pulling out a dark substance from Rose's heart. 13

"Open the door, you fools," she yelled, turning on her heel. The old couple nodded and scuttled to the door, bursting it open. Era made a symbol with her fingers. "Be gone," she shouted. The black orb in her hand flew straight out of the door, taking it's deadly scream with it. "It is done," she said, exiting after the demonic spirits.14

500 Years Later
Era opened her coffin door, panting heavily. She couldn't of guessed tonight, of all nights, she'd have a dream of the past. Her mind still mingled around, placing faces in-front of her eyes. "Era, are you awake?" A female pixie danced into the room, wearing a traditional maid's outfit. "Yes. I'm going out." Era slipped out of her coffin, heading towards the bathroom to prepare for another day in a new society.
