Chapter 9
Ricky was on his way to his favorite spot in the woods near his old high school when he picked up the panicked thoughts of Isabelle. Ever since he was about 14 years old, he could pick up the thoughts of the people he knew or cared about.
Help me! Anyone! Please!
Ricky slammed on the brakes. He could hear the distress in her voice. He turned his car around and headed towards her house.
................................................................................................................................................
Ricky pulled into the driveway of Isabelle’s house about fifteen minutes later. He picked up on her muffled screams and immediately knew something was wrong. He ran up to the porch and twisted the knob; it was locked. He raised his foot and kicked the door. The lock broke, and the door flew open.
What he saw made Ricky’s veins pulse with anger. Bryan had Isabelle pinned to the couch. His left arm was holding a pillow in place on her face, stifling her screams for help. His right arm was roaming all over her body. Her top was ripped open; the buttons scattered on the floor. Ricky saw Bryan’s hand reach for the button of Isabelle’s pants before he was able to move.
He leaped onto Bryan’s back and dragged him to the floor. He straddled Bryan, pinning his arms down with his knees. Bryan yelled out and Ricky grabbed the pillow off the floor where it had fallen, placing it over Bryan’s mouth and pushing downwards.
Isabelle, who until now had been gasping for breath on the couch, now got up and started screaming.
“Stop, Ricky, don’t! You’ll kill him,” she yelled.
Her words brought Ricky back to reality. He got up and took the pillow away. He let Bryan catch his breath before he picked him up and dragged him to the door. He threw Bryan out on the porch.
“Don’t you ever let me catch you any where near this house ever again,” Ricky said menacingly.
Bryan staggered towards his car and got in. He pulled out and drove away.
Ricky went back inside and closed the door as best as possible. He turned towards Isabelle and held out his arms to her. She leaned into him and cried into his shoulder. He rubbed her back and kissed her head, whispering soft words of encouragement to her.
She eventually stopped and leaned back in his arms to look at him.
“Thanks,” she whispered, “I don’t know what I would’ve done if you hadn’t showed up.”
Ricky kissed her forehead lightly and she hugged him.
“But how did you know something was wrong,” she asked. “You came flying in here like a bat out of hell.”
He chuckled. “I think you’re forgetting that I’m a vampire sweetheart. I picked up on your stress-filled thoughts.”
She nodded. “Well I guess that makes sense.”
He chuckled again. She looked down at his shirt. “Well this is the second shirt of yours that I have totally soaked,” she said and laughed.
He bent down near her ear and whispered, “That’s ok. It gives me an excuse to go home and change for our date.”
She gasped. She’d forgotten all about that.
Ricky looked down at the surprise on her face and laughed. “It’s ok, I understand. You go get ready and I’ll come back to pick you up in about an hour,” he said.
She nodded and pulled him into a hug. She wrapped her hands around his neck, threading her hand through his hair. She kissed him passionately on the lips.
“Thanks again,” she whispered into his mouth. She broke the contact and stepped back.
“You’re welcome,” he said. He turned around and grabbed the doorknob. He pulled the door shut behind him and whispered a few words. The door lock clicked into place and he left.
Nothing like a crisis to bring two people closer together. This was a hard chapter for me to write for this story has a lot of my life in it.

once again RICKY IS AWESOME!!! I am addicted to this story. I kinda hope it never ends! I want them married
-
yes, i agree, a crisis or something chaotic that happens can bring two people closer because they practically kind of made an event in their lives they can go back to and reminisce together.
-
this chapter was extreely fast to the max. i liked it but felt that isabelle got over the shock a little too quckly. maybe he coul=d stay wit her longer? or more detail to make it seem longer.
also i forgot to say tha i enjoyed the piece of rickys history in the last chapter. it really makes a character more real. -
whoaaaaaa!!!
Please write MORE!!!!!! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS!!!!!!!!!!
