“Squad 295, report to forward command center immediately,” Colonel Debiz set down the comlink and turn around. General Neb stood waiting. Debiz wasn’t sure how Neb had come up through the ranks but he was glad, Neb was every bit the blonde bombshell he’d read about. She had long blond hair, deep blue eyes, a muscled body he would love to get lost in, and legs that could ground gravships. General Neb was strictly off limits though, besides being his superior she was well-versed in personal, Zentron, and Utranian defense. Even so, Debiz was sure that having her onboard inspired to the men.
Debiz had always been very different. His blank and stringy body had never stood out. His colleagues joked that he didn’t need a crowd to disappear into; few people knew he was there. The truth made the jest more biting. He was only noticed for his intelligence and he had soared to chairman of Science War Command on the back of that These few trips of presenting the latest devolvement were the only times he set foot off the submarine base. Here he wore a sterile lab coat but often he wore only his immolation suit.
He was please to see the first wisps of the electron cloud that heralded ‘blinx’ 295. Each soldier in squad 295 was given electron transshifters that allowed them to demolecularize themselves, move as energy and electrons, then remolecularize where ever they wanted. Civilians called this ‘teleporting’ although understanding the true function of it allowed more interesting uses.
The pockets of the electron storm began to swell and the soldiers of 295 took form. They were the snipers of the 45th century; able to appear plant the bomb or take the shot and disappear before the enemy even knew they were there. Their armor was a dull black cloth and their pieces of equipment where dull silver and gold.
The fully formed squad stood at attention, facing the general of course. Colonel Debiz was imported from SWC and given this rank, he was always surprised when soldiers even noticed him.
“Gentlemen,” Debiz spoke up and at a nod from General Neb, the four soldiers turned around to face him. The black cloth shrouded the entire body and face and only the silver band over their eyes reminded Debiz the things inside was human. He had overseen the development of this suit and technology but hadn’t realized how sinister it looked. Debiz took a deep breath, “This squad is the final test before knew technology becomes widespread among the Karaden Armada. As such, the chancellor has approved this squad for tempshifting bombs. While full temporal voyage are years away, these weapons store pre-fusion electrons in temporal envelopes.”
“What button blows up the room, Sir?” One of the soldiers had asked the question although Debiz didn’t see which one. The point was well taken though; these soldiers didn’t care about the science, just practical mechanic. Debiz found that a bit sad but his understanding had kept him away from the fighting.
Debiz picked up a silverish blob from the table behind him and held out the gelatinous blob, “You will each be issued a canister of this gel. Use two fingers to draw out a hunk, press your fingers against the target then transshift away. The dissipating cloud evaporates the gel and the hydrogen within begins the fusion. The target, and 5 kilometers around, will be incinerated. You each will get a can before you board your shuttle.”
The black forms twisted in a salute then seemed to disappear in a haze of electrons.

I'm trying to put the science back in sci-fi.
