Is This The Story?

Questioning, we entered the afterlife, walking together as we had been. We shifted and stirred the leaves of an eternally falling tree. Moments cascaded as the spool of this life ran abruptly backwards. Hands clasped in parting, tears of joy and sorrow capitulated to the flow of the uni-verse as spinning worlds, pressing invisibly, began to wind backwards through the moments in a Catherine-wheel like spin which, although fast seeming and electric with thought, (your own thought which you could hear in your ear like a lover's voice), went as slow as it had all gone.

Recapitulation, and the groan of some lazy sodden thing left over from the devastating recognition that you have so damn much to face and to cover and to explain to yourself. What will the end of it be? Disappearing into your mother's own sheila-na-gig grimace feet first, saying goodbye to wry nurses, taking all the music you surprised yourself with with you.

Nine months of meditation and hindsight in the womb, and then you split suddenly in two.

Author notes

I cannot decide, should the world end here with a whimper or a bang? or, as it started, with both perhaps???

Hmm. This has many familiar notes and sounds very similiar to something I've read, though I can't remember what nor where. Noentheless, it's an interseting idea. It is very short and thus, I feel, there is a lot more that could be added to this. But, what you have is pretty good. Just one correction: the word "universe" is one word without a hyphon. Good luck in the contest.

What strange writing, oddly intriguing in its elusive way...
    Nice and different.
