Kizzy looks all around her, seeing that everybody isn’t here yet, but the big boys are, Wade’s second and third are here, along with their mates. The second in command, Hardy, who‘s six foot and three inches with blonde hair and dark green eyes. His wife Mandy looks like Kizzy‘s mother in away, but she‘s taller and her eyes are brown. Her hair is a light brown that‘s usually down. They’re a good couple together; they met before Mandy became a werewolf. When she’s in her wolf form, she’s graceful and proud; in human form, she’s unsure and clumsy with her height of five foot and eight inches. She likes Hardy and Mandy; they’ve always been good to her, that she knows of anyways. 1

The third in command, Samson, who’s not very humble at all, which shows in his dark amber eyes, which almost match his hair. His wife Valerie has been a werewolf longer than her husband, which is strange to Kizzy since she’s always known it to be the other way around. The women usually became a wolf after they get married, but Samson has always likes to do things backwards. They match each other in strength and leadership. Valerie knows he wants to be second to Wade, but Samson knows that he’s no match for Hardy, who’s been a wolf a lot longer than most of them, even Wade. She has always shown her feelings through her sapphire eyes, though she’s hard on most of the wolves, she means well in the end.2

These are the people that Wade trusts with his life, and Kizzy has always believed that it’s a good match, because Wade knows that any of them won’t try to challenge him, not only that, but they have been with him for many years, ever since he became Alpha fifty years ago. Though, they weren’t always the second and third in command, they were always getting closer and closer to where they are today. 3

Soon, the house starts to fill with people, some she knows, and others she doesn’t. Kizzy is almost afraid of getting to know people in the pack. Her paranoia keeps her back, and she knows she shouldn’t hold back, but she can’t help herself. This meeting is about a couple of other things, the ceremony that her brother will be taking apart in, about what Kizzy saw, and “We may have a new werewolf in prison. Kizzy’s friend, Levi, told Kizzy about it and I’m going to go up for the next few days and talk with the warden about what I can do to help. After that, I’ll let you guys know what’s going to happen some way or another,” Wade pauses for a second. “But we have more important issues to talk about. Kizzy, you can take the floor now and explain what we are dealing with.”4

She stands up for the first time since people started showing up and everybody looks at her, “Hi everyone,” they just keep staring at her and she starts to play with her hands. “I was out by the river the other night, running through the woods like I usually do, but when I was out there, I saw this creature. It had a woman shape the hair was long and black, it looked fake, like a wig but it wasn‘t. I couldn’t see the eyes at all. It had wings, kind of like a bat,” has she keeps explaining what she saw, the other wolves were trying to think if they have ever seen this before, but some of them has been alive for so long they can’t remember what they’ve seen or done.5

After Kizzy finish talking, Wade stands up and starts speaking again, “If you know anything about this creature demon, let me know. We need to handle this as soon as possible and the sooner we know what we’re dealing with, the sooner we can get rid of it. Thank you and have a good night.”6

They all at once stands up, almost like students standing up during a choir concert, all in order, waiting for the next row to be gone. As each one walk past by Wade, they remove their hair and reveal their necks to him, showing him respect. He just bows his head, like he does after every pack meeting. As they walk out the door Kizzy counts them, one by one, all together there are thirty wolves. When they all have left, she goes up to Wade and stares at him, seeing that his eyes are filled with worry and stress. “Wade, are you okay?” She asks him, innocently.7

The smell of his anger begins to overwhelm her, “Yes, I’m fine,” he tells her in a stiff voice.8

“Sorry I asked, it just seems like you want someone to talk to,” she removes her eyes and begins to walk to the door.9

“Wait,” he tells her, calming down as fast as his anger had come, “I’m sorry Kizzy, just with everything that has been going on, they’re overwhelming.”10

Kizzy was taken back, he actually said he was sorry, “its okay,” she tells him unsurely, “I understand how that is.” She looks at her watch and sees that it’s nine thirty at night, “I should get going, and you know where to find me whenever you want to talk. You should know that I wouldn’t think you’re weak just because you’re stressed out, anybody would be if they were going through everything that you do.” He nods, and she leaves to go back home, to go to sleep and hope that she won’t dream again.11

After the night pass, dreamlessly, Kizzy gets out of bed, noticing the vacuum in the house again for the first time since she made it back home after the pack meeting from the night before. When she walks out of the living room, she sees Brandon in the kitchen, making coffee, “Umm, aren’t you suppose to be at work?” She asks him in her half awake and confused voice.12

“Well, yeah, but after threatening the boss of me quitting, the best mechanic in the shop. He finally listened to me and let me take some time off… He’s letting me have as much time off as I need, but I’ll be back tomorrow; so he’s fine with this one day. I just wanted to stay home with you today and help you finish cleaning the house,” he smiles at her, looking at her like he won’t ever see her again.13

“Plus, a week after the ceremony,” she looks away from him, getting a cup of freshly brewed coffee.14

“Yeah, I’m nervous,” he confesses to her, worried that she’ll think he’s weak for being scared.15

“That’s understandable Brandon. Everybody is, but don’t let it stop you. If you really wanna do this, do it. But, if you have doubts, you need to really think if this is what you want. There’s no going back to being human,” when she tells him that, she tightens up.16

“Yes, I know. I have thought this through, I want it to happen. You need me around,” he looks down, almost regretting his thoughts about the ceremony.17

“I do, but I don’t want you to endanger your life to stay with me. You need to decide to do this for yourself, not for me. I love you and whatever you decide to do, I’ll support you.”18

He nods as he sighs, knowing that she’s correct, and “Maybe I should give this more thought. I thought it’s the right decision, but you’re right. I need to do this for myself, not for anybody else. Maybe I should go out by myself after dinner and think about this. I need to be sure if I’m going to do this or not.”19

“Yeah, and while you’re out thinking, I can finish cleaning; for once,” he smiles at her as he goes back to his room to clean it and it’ll allow him to think without being too far away from his baby sister.20

As time went on, Brandon couldn’t stay in his room any longer and goes out and see that Kizzy is just sitting on the couch, watching Television and with the room still looking how it was, messy and he just laughs at her, “What‘s so funny giggle boy?”21

“Oh nothing… I figured you would have done something by now, I was in my room for awhile and thought you would have been cleaning.”22

“See how little you know about me? I’m lazy; you should have known that I would be sitting my butt snuggly in this seat.” Kizzy looks at the clock and sees that it’s almost dinner time and sighs, “Are you hungry? I can eat a bit.” 23

“Nope, you go ahead and eat without me, I’m gonna go out for the walk that I was talking about. I can’t stand being in this house for much longer, too much on my mind.” 24

She nods, understanding how he feels, “Okay, I’ll be here when you get back. No plans for me!” She smiles and he laughs at her again.25

“Alright, don’t wait up for me, I may be awhile,” he tells her as he puts on his jacket and walks out the door.26

After Kizzy finishes cleaning up after dinner, and Brandon still out on his walk, she sits down and goes through the channels, one by one. She sighs to herself, listening to the wolf within her; you have done the right thing. If he chooses not to Change, then we can keep him safe. Kizzy just shakes her head, wondering what her older brother will do now. She doesn’t want to him to go through the change, and she doesn’t want to see him hurt or in pain, like she knows he will be in after the change. She has seen it plenty of times27

Two hours passed by the time Brandon comes back from his walk, but when he walks into the living room, he sees her younger sister asleep on the couch. He silently walks over and puts a blanket it over her and then walks towards his room, closing his door as quiet as he can. He hides in his room, still thinking about what Kizzy said to him over dinner. The Alpha of Salem, Wade, gave Brandon all the information he needed to know. They still couldn’t tell him a lot since he was apart of the pack quiet yet, but Kizzy has told her a little more, not much, but more then Wade has at least.28

The room is still dark, besides where his desk lamp sits, since it’s the only light on. Brandon sits in his desk chair and stares out the window. The moon is shining through the trees and he smiles. Though he hasn’t fully thought it out he knows, in his heart, that he will go through the Change. It has been what he’s been wanting ever since he saw Kizzy turn into a wolf for the first time when she was a little girl. A little cub boost with confidence and pride. Their father showing her praise, his eyes lighten up and his voice is a pitch higher. He knew from that moment, he will want to Change, but now it is for him and not for his father or for Kizzy. After that thought, he lays in bed and quickly falls asleep and only dreams of him running through the trees as a white wolf with black with black boots and a black tip on his tail, chasing his sister wolf through the trees by the river.29

The light shines through all the windows in the house, Kizzy stretches out and manages to stays on the couch and looks up at the ceiling. For once, she didn’t have to wake up before she wanted to, but the peace never lasts for long though. Only a few moments after waking up, she hears her phone vibrate on the coffee table, after a few rings she finally answers it, “You have Kizzy here, whatcha need?”30

“One of these days, you will say ‘Yes sir?’ to me, I swear to it,” it’s Wade, once again calling when she just wakes up.31

“How do you know when I wake up? It’s getting kind of creepy you know. Stalking is a crime, even if you are a werewolf,” she smiles to herself, waiting for his witty response.32

“Oh hush you; I have something to tell you.”33

“Well tell me already, I still have to clean the house, sort of. Looks like Brandon got bored before he left for work,” that comment only makes Wade laugh and Kizzy snorts at him. She waits another moment, “Well, what you need to tell me?”34

“Oh right, I’m heading over to the prison again pretty soon. We are getting that guy out of that place, officially. I thought you might want to go with me and meet with this guy and see what you get from him.” 35

“You are just gonna use me for the special power I have. The reading of people, but couldn’t you just smell him and see if he’s good or not?” She sighs, not wanting to get out for the day. “Do I even have a choice in this or do you need me so badly that you’re willing to beg me to tag along?”36

“I may be willing to beg but not in front of Hardy, Samson, or the rest of the pack. I don’t think they would approve of their Alpha begging on hands and knees to a turnskin, who probably doesn’t really need a pack to begin with,” she can tell he’s teasing her, his voice is light and airy, and she has learn to just do as he asks, instead of arguing of him.37

“Okay, I won’t make you beg, this time, but just remember this. You’re going to owe me and you may not even like it,” the tone of her voice is amused and Wade can hear it, pleased that she smiles for him. 38

He laughs a little, “Alright, well get up and get dressed… I’m outside your house right now,” her smile goes away.39

“What are you doing outside my house?” Kizzy isn’t sure how to react to the Alpha being outside her house before she is out of her pajama‘s.40

He grins, knowing that she’s panicking a little, “Waiting for you to get up. Now, I’m not stalking, I need you with me and it’s faster if I was here first. So can I come in now?” All he hears is her clicking her phone off, and he walks towards the door.41

“You are going to be the death of me one of these days,” she tells him as he smiles at her in her teddy bear t-shirt and striped pants pajamas pants, she can tell that he’s amused by what she’s wearing and her face goes red, realizing she’s wearing her teddy bear t-shirt. 42

Wade keeps staring at her, and smiles to himself as he walks through the door, “Maybe you should change into something else.”43

“I am, but I figured you didn’t want to stay out there by your car,” her face goes redder by the moment, and she can’t hide her embarrassment from Wade, even if he was just a human. “Have a seat; I’ll be back in a little bit.”44

“Don’t take too long, we have an appointment at three o’clock and I don’t feel like waiting for your ass,” he grins as he looks at her bottom while Kizzy is walking towards her room. 45

“Seems like you would rather have me take me time,” she looks behind her and shoots him a glare and he removes his eyes and looks at her face, keeping a smirk on his face.46

After she gets dressed in something that Wade agrees with, they head over to the State Penitentiary. She stares outside the window of the SUV, knowing that he only got this so he can fit a wounded or a dead wolf in the back. She keeps thinking about what’s going to happen to her brother, which the ceremony is coming up soon. She sneaks a look towards Wade, knowing that he’s going to be the one who Changes him, and there’s no stopping either of them or the ceremony, since there will be more than just her brother going through the Change.47

In the distance, she hears Wade’s voice, “Hey Kizzy, we’re here… Are you ready for this? You seemed kind of out of it on the way over here.”48

“Yeah, I’m peachy. I just want to get this over with; I’ve never been good at being in a place with all these males…” She trails off, wrapping her arms around herself for comfort.49

“Yeah, me either really. They are pretty creepy,” he tells her, patting shoulder as he pushes her slightly to start her to get going. “You’ll be fine though, I’m with you,” he smiles at her and she gives him a small smile that seems to satisfy him enough to push her closer to the doors.50

After checking in and going through all the paper necessary to go in and take out someone extra, but they decide to talk to him while he was still here, to make sure that he was really changed. “The guards who will take you to Warren will be here in a few minutes, they want to put him into the cell first,” the woman at the desk tells them and they both just nod at her and take a seat, watching the door that will take them behind bars.51
